So Yesterday's showing at pca London first timers show. Client @simonajxx taking a 2nd place in a extremely high standard bikini class It happened to be the biggest class of the day and full of great first timer athletes. It was seriously impressive at this level. ( hats off to the coaches here helping these athletes) We said before we went on stage " it will take someone special to beat you today " It was a close but we took the 2nd place happily with a great winner taking that gold. I'm extremely proud of Simona and her work ethic and commitment I'll be posting her transformation later from the start of her journey to hitting stage yesterday. It's pretty spectacular. Oct 22 - Oct 23 My left was my first season competing. @ukdfba first judged me as a figure & physique girl then invited me back to compete as a woman’s bodybuilder. I was a newbie in the BB world sept/oct recently winning UK & international champion earlier that month. That was my toe stepped in where I was very successful 🏆, @ukdfba invited me on the @european_elitetour where I then stepped on stage for my first international show In 2022 Stepping off stage i had my first build. 12 weeks was all the time I could have to prepare to compete at the 🌍 Championships hosted by @ukdfba 12 weeks was not a great deal of time, but competing at the 🌍 in the UK I just couldn’t miss out on. Now I think about it more, it was the best decision! My middle in June I was throned World Champion Am, awarded my pro card… a new Pro I stepped back on with the Pros winning World Champion PNBA Pro 🏆 Getting to June in my prep, I would say this was my hardest prep. The 12 week build, the drilling of posing, routine & the mental strength powering through it was my hardest. So best decisions are gonna be tough in the game if you really want it! My right, was my second time competing internationally, competing on stage a PNBA Elite Pro athlete. From June to Oct, we needed to bring the legs in more while trying to keep as much muscle tissue on my physique. My right I was throned Miss Universe PNBA pro 🏆 Through out my seasons I gained more experience and met the standard of criteria. Each time we have the ability to change if we really want it! We strive to beat ourselves, and if we love it as much as want it… our smile we always be the same we take with us. There is a lot to be thankful for these past couple months: I’ll be finishing up my military service in 1 month and the US Navy has given me an adventure I’d never have dreamed of. Many ups, downs, lefts, rights! It’s been a ride! I am a better physician and leader for it! Honored to have been awarded a Naval Achievement Medal from my squadron for my service to my unit and Marines. I am thankful for the opportunity I have had to service my country 🪖✈️ 🎉 But it’s time to take my next career steps 🤙🏼 I am excited to announce I’ll be starting my PGY-2 year in General Surgery at NYU on 1 July! I’m packing up and heading to NYC very soon 😅 VERY excited about the opportunity and VERY thankful to get to train at NYU. @nyugsom_surgres Since medical school I have dreamed of being a surgeon. Time to get back after it and make this dream a reality 💪🏽 It’s bitter sweet leaving San Diego. It’s been almost 5 years and It’s turned into my home. I am thankful for all the great friends I have made and especially @nxptfit for pushing me physically and bringing me into your family! Absolutely thankful for my gym partner @lil_beastninjamom for competing with me and just making working out fun and competitive 😊 @swolemate.showdown was alittle rocky for me but you kept encouraging me and we podiumed today at @functional.republic and just so so thankful for the memories we got to share doing this 🥹 San Diego has such an active community and I have tried to stuff as much life and fun and hard work into this last year because I didn’t know what the future held. I even got top 24 (13th overall) in the @hybricongames qualifier and will have the opportunity to compete in this epic competition in October! 💪🏽 The connections and memories I have made here will always be a time I look back to fondly in my life! These photos have been sitting in my favorites folder since January 12th. I favorited them because it was one of the very rare occasions where I saw myself in a photo and thought “wow I actually look kinda big here”. I don’t quite think I’ll ever be big enough to satisfy my brain. I definitely have some body dysmorphia as I feel most lifters do. So, in the rare instance that I see myself for more of what I truly am, I like to savor it. Why do I want to be big? Maybe it was rooted in wanting to feel safe. To be so big that no one could ever bully me again. My viewpoint has since changed. Now I need to be big to inspire change in the world, not to protect myself from childhood fears. Even if I lost all I had tomorrow physically, I truly believe my mind has changed enough to appreciate who I am inside now. I see you. Yes. You do lift. A lot. What a tale of two days! Came into this shoot extremely confident…almost too confident. I came out the gate cleaning the first 4 targets then got so comfortable that I went into autopilot…which is never good. And the Wolverine bit me then. After that, I had a hard time letting myself trust what I was doing the rest of day one and finished at +7... After realizing all of this, my goal for today was to stay in my shot and trust myself. It worked out quite well finishing at +24 on the day and +31 for the weekend in 18th. It’s not my end goal, but yet another stepping stone forward with momentum behind it! I’m just grateful to God that I get to be out shooting again and enjoying it. Also having my family come this time. @alex_lovell38 shot his shoot for the year as well🫡. On days when I lack motivation to work out, I remind myself of my goals and the progress I’ve already made. I focus on how good I’ll feel afterward, both physically and mentally, knowing that pushing through the workout will bring me closer to my objectives. Sometimes, even just starting with a small, manageable task like stretching helps to build momentum and get me going. Very good upper session in the books this afternoon with fellow member of @teammbm_ @aidandoylefit who was up this neck of the woods from Galway for some deep tissue work - always great to catch up! Slightly reduced volume across this one, pulled out the third set from most exercises after the lat pulldowns as this session really is a long one for me and didn’t want to pull Aidan too far away from his own setup! A really good session regardless and probably not the end of the world anyway as its coming up very close to deload/devolume time again for me.
