A weekend reminder; There's a difference between being consumed by fitness & creating a LIFESTYLE that adds rather than subtracts. Being in it for the long run means zooming out and looking at the bigger picture. Looking at ALL pillars of your health (social, mental, physiological) ... rather than just the physical. Working on your wellness as a whole brings to light the best version of yourself isn't about perfection but rather allowing yourself to recognise what's a healthy balance for you while being realistic about your needs/ limitations. It's healthy to have a life. Fitness becomes manageable when you can learn how to zoom out of all the little details/ standards and work on sharpening your big picture thinking. Ultimately, unless we zoom out of the need to be perfect, we will never allow ourselves real change. 🚨Seven Weeks Out Today… 💪 The photo on the left was what I looked like when I stepped on stage for first time a year ago. I didn’t have the performance I wanted when I entered the sport; especially given my competitive nature. I’m not talking placing wise, but just in terms of bringing my best. I was eager to get back to competiting but knew that Rome wasn’t built over night. 😤I took this on the chin and humbled myself for the past year. I got back to the drawing board and committed to putting on size and not worrying about the body fat associated with it. Now looking at it, it was best decision to optimize growth especially as a natural competitor. ✅Regardless of the placement in a few weeks, I am stoked the progress I have made the past year trusting the process and humbling myself in the wait… ⌛️ ✅ I truly believe that everything great is built with time, sacrifice, and perseverance. Personally I wouldn’t want it any other way, it’s through your struggles that you lean on God and he reveals his self the most. If you are taking short cuts whether it be doing fad diets or taking these new “Weight loss” shots; you aren’t going to the root of your problem or is it going to work long term. I encourage you to get to the root to dig up the real issues, it will lead to sustainability and long term reward. This is the same in financial, spiritual, and mental walk. If you skip leg day, keep scrolling 👀 3 tips that built my legs 🦵 I’m a tall guy.. and my family has historically had “chicken legs” 🥺 So I set out a goal to change my destiny, and got to squatting 😤 … over time I learned what wasn’t working, what did work, and what I wasted years trying to do 👴🏼 1️⃣ - FULL ROM: train with full range of motion, I was fortunate to have a early mentors that taught me to squat deep when I first got under the barbell 🏋️‍♂️ I remember in the football weight room, people would brag about their 500lb squat.. but their legs didn’t show it.. when I got to witness them squat, it all made sense 🙃 don’t be that guy 2️⃣ >1 LEG DAY PER WEEK: So many people will give their legs (which are ~40-50% of our body) just 10-20% of their attention in the gym. September 2023 -—> April 2024 Postpartum Transformation 💫 - This amazing momma committed 110% to her goals and crushed all of them! Workout done, which means I've now completed week 4 and am officially finished the first half of the 8 week program/challenge 😍 Honestly was thinking I would never get back into my fitness, but I just needed the right program. I discovered online coaching wasn't for me, as much as i really wanted it to be, I just can't do the communication part, it was hanging over me all the time, knowing I'd have to speak to someone I didn't know, and I also need a format which means it's right there in front of me, organised and easy to read, because I struggle a little with jumbling things up, and I need to be able to switch up exercises. I just can't do people unfortunately, and I don't mean that I hate people, not at all, I'm extremely empathetic actually, that's part of the problem, I take people's problems on my shoulders, but mostly I just don't enjoy that social aspect, I just want to be left alone for the most part. I don't want to talk to anyone. I do get extremely lonely and wish I wasn't like this, but it's because of this I have literally noone in my life. No friends, no family that I talk to regularly, absolutely zero human touch, absolutely nothing. It's hard because I crave all those things but I hate them in reality. This time last week😅 That soon flew by! Making me realise how quickly time passes. The past 16 weeks have taught me a valuable lesson: time is limited, and we must make the most of it. Every day presents us with a choice: either we get things done or we come up with excuses. Let’s be honest, procrastination and constantly saying ‘start Monday’ are just excuses. I ended up going out a walk because I had to go down to the pharmacy for the medication that my doctor so urgently wanted me to have and it won't be in for another three days, that's a five day wait for medication I needed on day one 🙄 Well, I'm not gonna die I guess, it's just frustrating because it's the one thing that will hopefully stop me feeling so shitty all the time on top of everything else. But I decided I might as well just keep walking (my pharmacy is literally on the same street as me) and got a few steps in. It was a super casual walk, my legs are so tired after last night's workout, slow was my max pace 😂 Plus I've been feeling really stressed this week so I just wanted to try and stay calm. New Mars Croissants - Got these from @icelandfoods 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓 Croissant Filled with Caramel Cream and Chocolate Cream. 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓 The Croissant was soft and had a bread like texture. The Caramel Cream was sweet buy had a faint Caramel flavour The Chocolate Cream was creamy and had a rich chocolate flavour to it. Overall these was decent but tasted alot better warmed up. The Chocolate Cream overpowered the Caramel Cream. The Caramel Cream could have done with a Stronger Caramel Flavour . My Rating:- 6.5/10 (Cold) 7.5/10 (Warm).

did the damn thing. 🥵 in the last year, I spent a few months at maintenance (eating around 2300 calories), 6 months bulking (at 2600 calories) and cutting for 3 months (anywhere from 2100-1850 calories). I ended my bulk around 150 pounds and 20% body fat and finished my cut at 134 pounds and 12.6% body fat. not gonna lie, the bulking part is always hard and a little uncomfortable…fun eating all that food until it’s not anymore 😂 but I was able to put on some muscle that I held onto while I was cutting (eating in a deficit to lose body fat). I’ve come a long way the last 6 years. When I lost weight after having my last baby I was so worried about eating more because seeing the scale go up was really scary. I get it! I spent way too long thinking I should only be eating 1500 calories a day and constantly cutting. I promise you’re gonna be a lot happier when you start focusing on getting stronger rather than smaller.
