First day of May, first day back doing what I absolutely love🩷 It’s been a long 9 months of waiting, but finally I came back. Back to BODi and back to making my health not just a priority but my job. It’s truly what I love doing. It makes me the happiest, feel the best and I’m SO DANG EXCITED!! Share this with an Apple Watch- wearing mama! I personally LOVE my Apple Watch. I will forever be dated in photos because I wear it all the time. I love that I can see my texts, the weather, a timer. I love that I can see phone calls coming in and know whether or not I need to answer it. I also love the exercise feature and the heart rate monitor. I think it’s cool to track my heart rate as I exercise, and to see what zones I’m reaching. If you’re also using your Apple Watch to measure heart rate - good news! It’s pretty accurate! But if you’re using it to count calories… it’s pretty off. The study linked below showed that fitness trackers (Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, Nike FuelBand…. all had more than 30% mean absolute percentage error — meaning, not accurate! Why does this matter? Have you ever used your MOVE goal as a way to treat yourself to dessert? Or hitting your calorie goal as a way to excuse extra food, even if you’re not hungry? This could be hurting your weight loss efforts, as these trackers are not accurately representing your calorie expenditure (calories burned). So what if, instead, you used the trackers more as a guide - you got your heart rate up, hooray! And focused on how exercise made you FEEL, rather than the calories it burned. And in turn, when it comes to food, not using exercise or calories burned as a reason to eat more, or indulge more. Instead, finding balance in your meals and snacks, regardless of exercise, to keep you energized and full. I had 2 miscarriages before Colton and a twin miscarriage this past November. ▪️I love Jesus and going to church! ▪️We travel for my husband’s job so you will see me in different environments! We have a home in VA but only get to visit a weekend here and there! ▪️I like to think I am a very outgoing person and love meeting new people! I turned to social media during the hardest time in my life and started creating content. It really took off after I had my son. The “diet” label is something we really need to be careful with… Why is it so taboo to make healthy choices when it comes to food? Why do we have to label it? You aren’t dieting, you are eating… Eating REAL food, in the amounts that are appropriate for your size and activity level…what is so shameful about that? I’ve lost 11.8 kg and 22cm in my waist during 16 weeks 🔥 @simabudre came to my coaching program end of December, with no motivation, struggling to find energy and horrible cravings towards the night. It sounds like a New Year’s resolution, but it turned into an amazing transformation. Raising a beautiful daughter, being there for her husband and also working a stressful job. I was showing this picture to a friend today and it took me a moment to even understand who this version of Amanda was .. this pic was taken 6 years ago in 2018 on a family vacation. I was married with 3 kids and if I’m being honest incredibly uncomfortable and unhappy. Avoiding everything that I actually loved doing in life. On the outside it was just a big artificial reflection of what I thought a “good” life was .. Month 4!!! This month I lost a grand total of 🥁🥁🥁 0lbs However... I did beat my personal best for my 5k, then beat it again. I also had my first session with a personal trainer so we can start working on my strength goals and absolutely smashed my first session 💪💪 who knew I could do deadlifts 🫣🤣 I know it's not healthy to stay in a calorie deficit long term, and let's be real I wasn't going to avoid the Easter choccys 👀 At the end of the day not all progress is measured on the scale. I've been trying to be more conscious of what I use to fuel my body, less sugar and more protein and carbs without all the added sugar that Im used to whilst still treating myself to a takeaway and sweets just more in moderation! Back to calorie counting this month whilst I try to loose the last few pounds needed to reach my goal but so much more focus on performance and how I view myself rather than being super focused on a scale. I'm so glad I've been taking time to work on myself, sometimes it feels like it's almost selfish with how much is on my plate with the kids/going back to work/ trying to keep a home but it's definitely been a form of self care and I know I'm setting a good example for the kids too, keeping our minds and body's healthy should always be a priority 🫶🫶 #nike #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #momfitness

To awaken your energetic body, and dislodge any stagnant energy within the body, you must also awaken the physical body. One of the easiest ways to do that is through physical exercise/body movement. When we get moving, our nervous system is able to reset, we flush out residual toxins & promotes feel-good chemicals in the brain. Be mindful on the movement you choose to do. The goal is to be able to check in with our bodies in a way that helps release this stored up energy. While yoga & tai chi are very popular modes of movement that helps with stagnant energy, the name of the game is MOVEMENT, so start where you can! I put together a total body circuit you can easily do at home, to take some of the guess work out of it for you 💪🏼 Do 15 reps of each exercise, rest, and then go through the circuit 2 more times. El peso no lo es todo!!! Cuando comencé mi rutina fitness baje 14 lb esa era mi meta pero me veia demasiado flaca😳 asi que comence a trabajar por mi aumento en masa muscular.. Me ah tomado tiempo crecer esos musculos que nunca fueron trabajados pero me encanta ver lo que podido lograr gracias a Dios, Luego de tres años cuidando de mi salud no hay nada mejor que saber que lo estas logrando. ➡️ Ever looked at a photo and said “I wish I could be different???” I saw this quote and it got me thinking: “We cannot think, want, hope, envision or strategize ourselves into change. But what we can do is ask ourselves if you are ready, willing, and able to change!” I couldn’t help but look at the picture on the left or even all my pictures prior to 2019! Never in a million years would I ever think I could lose 130lbs, make health and fitness an every day routine for me, and being able to have the energy and time to keep up with kids!!! Back then, I was unhappy, sad, depressed, and miserable even though there were ALOT of great times throughout that time... deep down, I wasn’t... ME! Today, I feel like I am a new person, someone that gets up in the morning with a purpose, and someone that is willing and able to teach others that yes change is scary, change is tough, but change is a beautiful thing! The biggest challenge about change is that you have to want it, you have to trust yourself that you can do it, and know that you may be on a long road to see that change but trust me, it’s sooo worth it!!!
