If you’ve been to the North Shore in Hawaii, you know it’s an absolute must to stop on the side of the road in the town of Haleiwa to grab a plate of garlic shrimp! Add a fresh coconut from a local vendor to really take it to the next level - depending on who you ask, there is big debate on who has the best garlic shrimp on the island, but I always recommend Giovanni’s Shrimp. Shrimp is marinated in olive oil, loads of caramelized garlic, lemon butter, and spices like paprika and more garlic powder alongside white rice. I was craving this dish, so I decided to recreate until I can make a visit back to my favorite place and oh my - it was close to the real dish!
