roaming holiday by @marinahill.docx review 🎀 Rating:4.4/5 🌟 I’ve been eying this book ever since marina posted her first teaser of it and am so so SO glad that I was finally able to be introduced to Nina and Weslys world!!Im such a sucker for princess x bodyguards but what’s even better is she doesn’t know that she is a princess nor knows about most of her backstory. The emotions and feelings in this book were honestly everywhere especially parts where Nina was expressing how she felt as an individual in her family.Wesley and Nina both share hardships however become even closer because of them 🥹🥹.They’re so so beyond precious and I absolutely adored the plot twists in this especially with the background regarding Wesley’s whole “secret” past life. This comes out May 10th and if you have nothing to do,you certainly do now!!!Theyre the perfect book if you’re looking for banter, secret romance (ish) and slow but deep falling in love.thank u for the arc marina <3 🤍 #books #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booksbooksbooks #newrelease #arcbooks

Sensible Lyla has a lot of reservations but in the end agrees to go (and hopefully not win) and plans to be back home in 2 weeks. Well this wannabe Love Island reality show turns into The Wilds (if you haven't binged on Prime, PLEASE DO) and chaos ensues. Lyla and the rest of the "cast" of the show have to work together when things don't go as planned and they're thrown into unimaginable situations with some people you would not want to be with on a stranded island. 🔹ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ: This was a slow burn when it came to really riveting me. I felt in "part 1" I was interested to see what was going to happen but it felt slightly drawn out. By "part 2" I was engrossed and had to see how this was going to end. I have to say it took some turns I didn't see coming and was a good beach read thriller. 🔹ᴘᴜʙʟɪꜱʜ ᴅᴀᴛᴇ: 5/21/24 🔹ʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ • • • • • • • #ruthware #netgalley #arcbooks #bookstagram #thrillerbooks #oneperfectcouple #teacherswhoread #beachreads #goodreads #gallerybooks

Brian R. O'Rourke The Good Teacher This is creepy or what that this is at least the 5th book that I read this year that involves schools and teachers? Is the book’s main character paranoid, or is it me who is paranoid when I wait for my kid at school every afternoon I watch… all the teachers going from one building to the other? Also, all those teacher books make me remember the time when I myself worked at a school. But, yeah. This book has it all. And, there were some weirdly relatable moments, especially when it came to frustration with how schools work. This is NOT your regular school creep book. This is intense, this is filled with suspense, and the spiraling part was really wild. Mostly, because it was so realistically written. Thank you @zooloosbooktours and @brianr.orourke for the book! About the book: Twenty years ago, Nelly met a monster. Now he’s back. After a difficult divorce, things seem to be looking up for teacher Nelly Peak when she takes a job at Overland Middle School. But then she’s introduced to her new colleagues…And she’s sure she recognises one of them - Marshall Dawes, the man that assaulted her twenty years ago.Only now he goes by a different name - Emmett Moore. And Emmett is a highly respected teacher at Overland, beloved by pupils and staff alike. There’s even talk of him becoming principal one day.But Nelly knows who he really is. And when things quickly start to go wrong for her – a mysterious stalker, her work being sabotaged - she is sure that Emmet is trying to squeeze her out so that he can keep his dark past hidden.Nelly desperately needs this job and realizes she must fight to protect her reputation while seeking to uncover Emmet’s true identity. But this is a dangerous game. As Nelly gets closer to the shocking truth, she discovers that she’s up against someone will do whatever it takes to stop her. This gripping game of cat-and-mouse is about to turn deadly…The Good Teacher - an edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller perfect for fans of Kiersten Modglin, Daniel Hurst, and Freida McFadden.

✨📚ARC Review📚✨ 📕 My Heart Still Beats by Helen Hardt 📆 May 28, 2024 ✨ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, definitely recommend!!! Spice Rating: 🌶️1.5 ( a few explicit scenes) Trigger warnings: this is a book about love and healing, as the female main character grapples with life after being drugged and raped. There are flashbacks to the rape, feelings of anxiety and depression, as well as another gruesome crime in the male main character’s past. Tessa Logan hates that everyone knows what happened to her. She hates that she’s treated as fragile and in need of pity. But in reality she’s a shell of her former self, and doesn’t know the way back to living life; or if she even wants that. Until Ben Black comes along. As maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding, Tess feels obligated when Ben (the best man) insists they go out to discuss the bachelor and bachelorette parties. Ben doesn’t treat her like she’s fragile, but somehow also respects her boundaries and understands her apprehensions. As they plan together and spend the bachelor/bachelorette weekend together, Tessa begins to feel like life can go on. Little does she know, Ben has his own skeletons in the closet that have come back to haunt him, and may haunt her too. My Heart Still Beats had tough content but I think it was beautiful to watch Tessa’s journey toward healing. Ben gave me major Alex Volkov and Christian Harper vibes (Twisted Series by Ana Huang), but Ben was even more likable. Protective, but respectful. I definitely recommend this romance, and I’m so, so grateful for the opportunity to get my hands on this one early! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💕Dual POV/Timeline ☀️Summer romance 💕Second chance 🏄‍♂️Surfer/Small Town "good girl" 💕Matching Tattoos 👰‍♀Runaway Bride 💕Nicknames Not a fan of summer romances? Not impressed by surfer MMCs? Not a huge small-town romance fan? Cool, me either. READ 👏THIS 👏BOOK 👏 ANYWAY👏 I was hooked from the first chapter, actually the prologue. Told from the summer romance of our MCs at 17 and then the second chance timeline after Darby runs away from her wedding, what you get is the most beautiful, heartfelt, and completing captivating romance. Leo is a top-tier book boyfriend. Dangerous but kind, rebellious, yet thoughtful, and always vowing to keep you safe (four squeezes). Darby is a complex, caring, and heartbreaking character. There is self-discovery, growing up, living and dealing with trauma, and remembering the importance of using our voice and feeling heard. I laughed, I cried, and I absolutely smiled throughout this book. Chapter 34 (and 39... and another one) are some of the best spicy chapters I've read 🤌🥵

The Goddess of Warsaw by Lisa Barr ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow, this was INCREDIBLE. The story was captivating, the writing was exquisite and the story being told important. I loved that although the Warsaw Uprising was well written and well researched, the story did not feel overly academic. At times I forgot I was reading historical fiction as I became so wrapped up in the characters and their lives. I absolutely LOVED that the story starts in the present day and tells the story of an old Hollywood Star. Before her fame, she was a young jewish woman in Poland, whose family was destroyed by the Nazi Regime. In order to survive, she becomes a spy and assassin who helps with the Warsaw Rising. Easily one of the BEST books that I have read all year. A must read. Thank you Netgalley for my advanced reader copy. ARC Book Review! The Way You Shine by Amelia Chasen The dedication on this book is "To those who've ever felt like they're too much -- To those who've ever felt like they're not enough -- You're perfect as you are." And let me tell you, this entire book perfectly embodied that. Delaney is spunky, a bit wild, and whole lot of fun. Cole is a keep to himself and his daughter, run his construction company, and do it all again the next day. Seeing the 2 of these personalities come together was super entertaining. I will say, Cole is very self aware for acknowledging he is "old and grumpy". I feel like most grumpy people don't think they're grumpy. Cole's mom though? Secretly the best character in the whole dang book 😂 this grandma has no filter and the best advice. I'm giving this book 4.5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This one gets some bonus points btw, he's blue collar annndddd he leaves her sticky notes 🥰 QOTD: do you resonate with one in particular of the 5 languages of love? (Acts of service, gift giving, physical touch, quality time, and words of affirmation) AOTD: I did a test once and it was basically a 3 way tie with gift giving just barely at the top. But if leaving sticky notes was one of them, I think I'd choose that one 😍 #ARCReader #ARCBooks #ARCReview #BookReview #BookRecommendations #NewRelease #MayTBR #TheWayYouShine

✨ARC Review✨ Title: Scoring & Scheming Author: Mika C.C. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: I liked this book better than the first. Nova was a bit too immature for my liking, but Lane really made up for that. I didn’t really like that he kept pulling all these pranks, it once again seemed a little immature to me, but I loved how he really stepped up once Nova told him that she was pregnant. I enjoyed their chemistry together though. . . . #bookstagram #book #books #bookaddict #bookbuddies #bookcommunity #bookobsessed #booklove #booklover #booklovers #bookish #bookworm #bookworms #read #reading #reader #readers #readersgonnaread #readersofinstagram #readmore #readmorebooks #arcbooks #arcreview

All That Glitters by @authorbrookeharper This will probably be a shortish review because I want to avoid spoilers…but OH MY GOD….OH MY GOD!! I love Marcus!!! Everything about him really, just cannot get enough of him! This book gripped me from the very first page! Empire and Marcus and the way they just clash in the beginning and how they dance around each other, each trying to run from something was absolutely amazing! There’s an age-gap between the two of them but despite everything that happens, how Marcus treats her and how Empire responds, the chemistry is just so 🥵 The ending though? OH MY GOD! I need book 2 stat! This was insane, a wild ride a must read for anyone who wants a dark suspenseful slightly mafia romance! Brooke Harper is amazing and gives us a story that does not let us go well after we’ve finished the book (the cliffhanger may have something to do with it) I’ve loved every book she’s given us and this one is NO different! Victoria Helen Stone Follow Her Down This was such a riveting thriller that kept me eagerly turning the pages! Set against the backdrop of a secluded cabin, the story brims with constant intrigue and unpredictable twists. Throughout the story, every character is shrouded in suspicion, and it kept me guessing until the very end. The story wouldn't let me go, I had to take a few days long break from reading at the middle of the book, but the book lives in my head, leaving me craving to uncover the truth behind the crazy web of secrets. The characters are richly developed, adding layers of complexity to the suspenseful plot. The exploration of trauma and its lasting impact adds depth to the story, all while the unexpected conspiracy element adds an additional layer of intrigue. Wild, absolutely wild. Although the pacing may feel slow initially, the gradual buildup of tension leads to a veeery satisfying ending. The team over at @thrillerbookloversthepulse are talking about this book alllllllthetime! Someone reads it, someone else needs to read it ASAP, it is like a wildfire. 📥 What’s on my desk this week? 📤 🤓 Reading: I finished The Angel of Indian Lake over the weekend (review coming soon), so now it’s on to I Was A Teenage Slasher! Back to back @stephengrahamjones ?? When one of your favorite authors releases two novels in one year, you read them ASAP. I’ve been hearing great things about Slasher, so I can’t wait to jump in! Thanks again to @sagapressbooks #sagasayscrew for the free book!! I grabbed How To Make A Horror Movie And Survive off NetGalley recently, and thought it would make a great pairing with Slasher. Love the cover on this one and the premise sounds awesome. Thank you @redhookbooks for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book! I started Smothermoss last week and am about halfway through. I’m hoping to finish it in the next few days. It’s a quick read but a strange one. I’m digging the vibe so far…I think. It’s definitely different than what I normally read, but in a good way…I think. 😆 🕵️ Watching: I’m currently hooked on Dead Boy Detectives. It’s completely over the top but so good. The characters are lovable. The cases are intriguing. The villains are delightfully despicable. It’s just a fun show. Highly recommend if you are a fan of Neil Gaiman or a lover of comic books! 📚 Life: Those of you that have been following me for a while know that I do a book reward system to motivate me to complete my monthly goals. Well…last month I earned ZERO books. 😭 I’m pushing hard to accomplish ALL my goals this month to make up for it. I’m off to a good start. Hopefully I can keep myself focused! Wish me luck! 🫖 ARC REVIEW: The Pick Up 🫖 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This fake dating romance was such a sweet read full of banter and chemistry between these two single parents! All the side characters just added to the wonderful story, and I was truly so sad to reach the end. Sophie is such a great mom to Lila, working hard to juggle everything and support her daughter. She reminded me of my own mom, who was a single parent for many years, and was the absolute best parent. Both of them stretched theirselves thin to be there for their kids and even when it was hard, they knew it was the right thing to do. Ugh, it was just so great to read her POV! Joe was such an adorable MMC, I would have loved to see a peek into his mind with chapters in his POV (but that’s just my personal preference bc I’m greedy lol). He’s a great dad to Sidney and making the best of his situation, even when it’s awkward. His relationship with his mom is also so cute, we love to see it. He just cared so deeply for Sophie and put her needs first despite his own happiness, what a sweetheart. I would have loved an epilogue, but I also think it ended in a great way based on the story. I just didn’t want it to end 😭 Thank you to @byhannahdoyle, HQ Digital and NetGalley for my ARC copy in exchange for my honest review! Michael Price Grandad's Chair Ok, let me start with the very obvious – have you seen the cover art of this book? Have. You. Seen. This. Book’s. Cover? The chair and a flying pig – and I was sold. I had to see what was lurking behind that cover. And, let me tell you – there is a beautiful story lurking there. One perfect for young readers and for those who love book worlds built just for escaping the ordinary. Thank you @zooloosbooktours for the book! About the book: Who could have believed how much trouble an old chair could cause? From the moment his late grandfather’s chair is delivered to Miles’ home there seems to be magic at work. His long, friendless, school holidays are usually spent daydreaming and watching television. This year is different.Chairs, people and books have one thing in common - you should not judge them by their covers!Hidden under the leather covering of the chair he discovers clues to a world beyond his ordinary life in a North Yorkshire town in 1980. Miles is inexorably drawn into a dangerous world of witches, winged pigs and a mysterious tropical island.Fearing for his life, whilst being hunted by a ferocious enemy, Miles decides that he should leave a record of his exploits. 🎉Pub Day Review🎉 Thank you so much @booksparks and @pattieddingtonauthor for this gifted copy of #girlwiththreebirthdays ! Synopsis: Patti Eddington always knew she was adopted, and her beloved parents seemed amenable enough to questions—but she never wanted to hurt them by expressing curiosity, so she didn’t. It wasn’t until decades later, when a genealogy test led Patti to her biological family (including an aunt with a shocking story) and the discovery of yet another birthday, that she really began to integrate what she thought she knew about her origins. Determined to know the truth, she finally petitioned a court to unseal records that had been locked up for almost sixty years—and began to put the pieces of her past together, bit by painstaking bit. Thoughts: I’ve been reading and enjoying memoirs the more I read them. Keep the memoir recommendations coming! I thought this was an entertaining read. We learn a lot about Patti’s adoptive parents and what her life was like growing up. She grew up in a very loving family. I loved reading about some of her childhood memories. It wasn’t until the second half of the book we get to learning about the journey she took to discovering her biological family and roots. It was very interesting and quite a journey for her! I’d recommend this book to anyone who likes personal stories about the search of identity and truth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #booksparks #memoir #springpopup #girlwiththreebirthdays #goodreads #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #reader #giftedcopy #giftedbook #arc #arcbooks #pubday #bookobsessed #paperback #readerlife #readersofinstagram #readers #read

Ellie has been attending a school for the Deaf, but when it shuts down before her senior year, she needs to switch to living at home full time and attending a mainstream school. There she meets Jackson, a soccer player that is dealing with some concerning symptoms that affect his ability to participate in the sport. On the Bright Side was a quick read that I enjoyed. Through Ellie, it dives into Deaf culture and the frustrations a Deaf person faces in an ableist world. Ellie is independent and maybe a little stubborn, but her frustrations with unsupportive parents and classmates were understandable. She has to make some tough choices along the way but shows a lot of strength through it. Jackson was a very likeable character, and I loved how he made the effort to connect with Ellie when other classmates just wanted to gossip and assume. Jackson is faced with his own unexpected and scary diagnosis, and it was interesting to share his journey that portrayed his fears and frustrations while still providing optimism about the future. I think an important takeaway from this story is understanding how not all disabilities are obvious, and anyone can become disabled at any time, so it goes a long way to show compassion to others. 4⭐️ Prepare your luscious, kumquat breasts for this hysterical writer’s guide. With this author’s help you too can become a bestselling author with poorly written, unbelievable women! This satirical workbook would make a great addition to your coffee table, or as a gift to an aspiring writer. From the introduction I knew I was going to enjoy this book, the way this author writes brings humor to a very important subject. The way women are misrepresented in literature. While this book is filled with humor and honestly brought me to tears laughing, it does hash out the common problems women face when men write stories with them as characters. Misogyny, typecasting, unattainable beauty standards, and incorrect anatomy are just a few of the points touched on by Vondriska. I also loved how this book was born from a Twitter community called “Men Write Women”, it started off as a way to roast poorly written passages about women and the authors that penned them. However, it’s grown to be a community where writers can collaborate to ensure that they don’t become the next featured post or write about how a woman hid a small purse in her vagina. “Sarah Hagi was the one to coin the phrase, “God, give me the confidence of a mediocre white man.” As far as this book is concerned, that phrase should become your motto.” Thank you NetGallery and Sourcebooks for this ARC Publication date: 7/22/24 #bookstagram #netgallery #sourcebooks #megvondriska #satirebooks #bookrecommendations #arcbooks #bookreview #womensissues

#Repost @this.human.reads with @get.repost ・・・ J. D. Rasch The Silver Forest (Book 1,Book 2) What a beautiful book duo! Yes, two books, book one and book two, if you read the first one then you most absolutely are going to want to read book two. One is coming at the end of this May; the second one is coming this June. Just in time to read book one and then start reading book two. Those books are like immersing yourself into a magical world of fantasy, filled with wizards, adventures, surprises, weird characters, and lots of thought-provoking events (not a typical thing for most fantasy books!). Beautifully written and unique. Thank you @ireadbooktours for the book! About the books: Asmar, a young and naïve wizard, is sent on an impossible quest—to stop the renegade wizard, Malzus, from finding the tree of wisdom. The Great Council of wizards, desperate to find the golden pulcher tree, the source of all knowledge, sent nine wizards over the impassable seas to the far away land of Bracat—only to face years of frustration and failure. Until one of their own turned against them. Armed with a golden staff to amplify his power, the rogue wizard Malzus fled the wizards’ city of Dolcere and began a ruthless hunt for the tree. Meanwhile, in the small, protected village of Tuland, Asmar, a misfit, is suddenly called to Dolcere. There, he learns that he is to become a wizard, tasked with stopping the death and destruction caused by Malzus. The Great Council tasks Asmar with not only defeating Malzus but returning the golden staff to them. But Asmar doesn’t trust the wizards and their influence over him. “I guess when love is fated in the stars, it doesn’t matter how it begins.” Zara and Jackson are in an arranged engagement that promises to be the wedding of the year. Zara needs money and Jackson, who she was only with one night, decide to make a deal so that Jackson’s grandmother will be happy and leave him alone. I loved Jackson’s character from the beginning I only thought of Zara and in every sentence he showed what a millionaire he is. Zarah deserves more appreciation from her family and her friend, she is responsible for carrying everything financially in the house while the others have nothing to do with it. I really liked the relationship and how fast it is, it is just what is necessary to hook the reader, I think the way the author writes and tells the story is good. Katherine Center is definitely a fan favorite, and although romance is not my go-to genre, I do like to switch things up a bit. This is my third book by Katherine Center. I've read The Bodyguard (4⭐), Hello Stranger (3⭐) and I have several of her other books on my shelves. I liked this story. Center has a talent for dialogue. I found myself laughing at some of the quick witted conversations. Things did start to become repetitive, and I recall thinking the same thing during some of her other books, but I still found the story engaging. Although the MC certainly had redeeming qualities, I found her to be incredibly annoying at times. She had a stalker-like vibe mixed with copious amounts of desperation. I did enjoy all the other characters, though, and thought the story came together well in the end. Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for the ARC. 🏒 ARC Review 🏒 Puck Like A Girl Wynter Ryan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶 This was a short book, 156 pages, but it did not lack in plot and character building. It gave in Pucking Around vibes because 1. hockey, and 2. the MMMF relationship. It was realllllly good, and you should definitely read it! There was plenty of spice, and I enjoyed each of the characters. There was also some angst added into the plot, which kept it interesting. Teagan is the daughter of a star hockey player, and she sets out to play on her college team, but first, she has to try out. Of course, she was the best of the four that tried out, but unbeknownst to the three captains, Royal, Coulter, and Fin, she is a female. She didn't want the fact she was a woman to deter their decision, so she wore a helmet with a visor. After revealing her identity, the guys realized she was the girl who had caught their attention the previous night, and they all WANT her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TW: Sexual assault I was so happy when my son, Knox, began dating my best friend’s daughter. Our kids grew up together and we used to joke, as we sipped wine and watched them play, that they’d get married one day. But when Knox came home late after a party, zipping his hoodie up to hide the scratches I caught a glimpse of on his collarbone, a chill went down my spine. That night, our whole world shattered. Now, I hardly recognize my husband as he sweeps into action, calling in a hot-shot lawyer to defend our boy. I love my son, but what if I don’t know him at all? It turns out, everything I thought I knew about my perfect family is a lie. And I’m about to discover just what I’ll do to stop it from falling apart. I love how this story navigates through a shocking event by using multiple POV’s of characters. Everyone shows the picture perfect family and life, no one ever shows the dark or difficult times. Lorrie try’s to keep her family’s picture perfect life together while trying to deal with allegations made about her son. I love how we get to see how different characters react, how they feel and how the process this event. It shows you how no one deals with something like this the same way. It also shows the perspective of two mothers who would do anything to protect their children. Caitlin Weaver does a fantastic job of writing about a difficult topic. Especially showing it through all of the different characters. Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC read.

What’s eating Jackie Oh? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📱Thank you to @netgalley for an ARC ebook copy of What’s eating Jackie Oh? Published on 4/30/24. This was such a fun buddy read with @mai__reads 💕 This YA book made me tear up more than once. 😭 It strikes that perfect balance between laugh out loud hilarious and multi-layered and deep. The main character, Jackie Oh, is flunking out of history class because she’s so hyper focused on her obsession with cooking. This is a disappointment to her parents who have Ivy League degrees and expect her to go to an Ivy League school and major in something more practical like business or law (their respective degrees). Jackie spends all of her free time working at H&H’s restaurant Melty’s (a sandwich shop that caters to the white palette in NYC). H&H are her grandparents (Halmoni and Haraboji) who support her love of cooking by watching the show Burn Off! together and challenging each other to cooking competitions off-hours after Melty’s has closed. Jackie applies to the Burn Off show for teenagers as a contestant, behind her parent’s back. When she gets on the show, she experiences immense growth that tests both her skills as a chef and her character as she finds out her cooking idol, Chef Stone, is quite frankly racist. This book was so creative and it touched on my love for complex family dynamics, deep character growth, and food. I cannot imagine this book would be as fun if you aren’t a foodie like me so take that with a grain of salt. 😉 I adore learning how to become a better cook and experimenting with different fusions of flavors and cultures. It was so fun to see Jackie’s creativity and perseverance as she navigated the cooking challenges and the micro aggressions. I cannot praise this YA book enough. We need more YA books with American Asian representation like this. Happy AAPI month! #asianamericanrep #aapimonth #yabooks #arcbooks #netgalleybooks #patriciaparkauthor

“𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐’𝘥 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵.” #goldandshadow is the perfect read if you're in the mood for a snowy cabin, a growly bear shifter and lots of cuddles🐻❄️ Lis is a tricky thief, send to steal a mysterious amulet from a lonesome male. But after her cover is blown up, they are forced to rely on each other in the cabin. Forced proximity fans, this novella might be just the right book for you!🤭🏠 What I liked most about Lis is her determined yet noble character. Yes, she's theoretically a criminal but that's, in her eyes, to help her family. To those she loves, Lis is loyal till the end. Orson, the big growly bear, is one you want for yourself. He gives you hot chocolate, blankets and cuddles☕️ And boy, that male is a passionate lover🫠🔥 At first, he's grumpy and tight-lipped but after the ice melts, he's very caring🤗💕 I would say there's a good balance between story and spice in this cozy romance setting✒️🌶 There are also some mystery aspects about missing family members, the everlasting snow and the amulet which aren't answered in this novella. But since it's part of a series, I don't complain about all the open questions🤭 The only thing I noticed and found a little distracting is a word that keeps repeating in a short span in one chapter. Other than this, I really enjoyed the novella and Lis and Orson's story📚 Thank you @madeleineeliotwrites for the ARC copy😊 However, this is still an honest and not influenced review. 4.5/5⭐️ #goldilocksretelling #forcedproximity #shifterromance #romancebooks #romantasy #fantasybooks #arcbooks #englischesbuch #bookstagram #bookstagramdeutschland #bookrecommendations #buchblogger #bookaholic #bookiesagainstalgorithm #letstalkaboutbooks #supportonreaders #buchrezension #bookreview #bookstoread #kindleunlimited

𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚒𝚛 𝚍𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚜𝚜 “It’s called ‘His Days Are Like Grass’ I had planned on calling it that from the start.” Questions were only creating more questions. Armand’s logic was like one of those Russian nesting dolls. Well, even those eventually ran out of places to hide their secrets. “And that means...?” Armand cleared his throat. “As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.” “I don’t get it,” she admitted. “What does that mean?” “It means,” he softly explained, “Life is fleeting. Love is eternal.” Not really my usual read, but the cover is adorable and of course I’m a sucker for that. Really nice, engaging writing and this was so sweet and easy to read. Nice accurate and subtle mental health rep, and Armand is very autistic coded without it being mentioned or made a big deal of, which I honestly loved. Artistic and descriptive, nicely paced and really nicely written for the most part. Some of the dialogue is a little over the top and cringe, with far too many exclamation marks (though this is an ARC, so hopefully can be polished up and those edited out) Surprisingly comforting and honestly hits a little too close to home, all characters were loveable except for a brief argument when they were taking out their anger on everyone else, which I didn’t like. Rose is trans and again, everyone is so supportive and it’s so wholesome, she was described really well and really came to life. I enjoyed this, particularly with the LGBTQ rep and struggling artist/coming to terms with a lot about themselves and past trauma. It ends really nicely and was lovely to read.
