Longer version: Raw emotions, heartbreaking thoughts and so much pain, you can literally feel the anguish and hurt radiating from memories of our girl. Effy is the only one girl in architecture university, ideally she would like to study literature, but laws and traditions stopped her. Her life is a terrible wound, which could not heal due to the darkness surrounding her (family, guys at the university and people with power). Luckily there is once in a lifetime chance to be an architect to project new house for her favorite author, so she will participate and (not a spoiler) selected. But this new experience is not so simple and easy, dangers are waiting for her. When reality as much surreal as you might imagine, can you truly trust yourself and those around you? Chociaż Aster bardzo chciałby wziąć w nim udział, mama stanowczo mu to odradza. Jej zdaniem ludzie nie są gotowi na czarującego wiedźmaga. Chłopiec jednak, za namową przyjaciół, postanawia spróbować. Wierzy, że pokazanie innym swojej natury może pomóc zmiennokształtnym dziewczynom i chłopakom pragnącym czarować. Tymczasem Ariel, która trenuje magię w domu Astera, ma dziwny sen. Czy zdecyduje się sprawdzić, gdzie leżą granice jej mocy? Czy Aster będzie miał szansę udowodnić swojej rodzinie, że należy mu się korona z zaczarowanych kwiatów? Opinia: Ii oto następny i ostatni tom z trylogii. A szkoda! Chętnie czytałabym dalej. Nie mogę się pogodzić z tym że jest to zakończona seria… Podczas czytania tego tytułu bawiłam się przednio, jednak mam lekki niedosyt. Bohaterowie rozwinęli się, zarówno główni jak i poboczni. Pojawiły się nawet… Relacje romantyczne! Zostało to super przedstawione. Znajdziemy tutaj jeszcze rywalizację, radzenie sobie akceptacją (lub ich brakiem) ze strony rodziny, wsparcie przyjaciół i wiele wiele innych. Naprawdę cieszę się że zostało też tutaj pokazana relacja Ariel z (uwaga mały spoiler) jej bliskimi (tu już go nie ma). Książka rozwinęła się, rozszerzyła horyzonty więc nie ma nudy :) Polecam! Taki mam plan - dużo czytać, leniuchować i korzystać z pięknej (mam nadzieję) pogody 🤍. A teraz do rzeczy. Nie rozumiem, czemu o „Wszystkich naszych chwilach” jest tak cicho - przecież ta książka jest genialna! Świetnie się przy niej bawiłam. Historia Tuckera i Eriki uświadomiła mi, że chcę czytać jeszcze więcej młodzieżówek🤍. Książka nie jest schematyczna. Dzieli się na cztery części, to jest cztery zwariowane imprezy, na których Erika i Tucker przypadkiem i nie tylko wpadają na siebie i tym samym coraz bardziej zacieśniają więzi, uświadamiają sobie, jak bardzo się lubią-lubią i jak uwielbiają swoje towarzystwo. Ale z racji różnych perypetii i powiedziałabym również jeszcze niedojrzałego wieku, kiedy robi się problem z niczego, momentami są zbyt dumni, by sobie o tym powiedzieć. A może po prostu boją się, że zepsują tak piękną przyjaźń? Mogę was zapewnić, że nie da się przy niej nudzić. Jest kolorowo, spontanicznie i…luźno. To idealny tytuł, jeśli chcecie się zrelaksować, a także oderwać się od codziennych trosk. I’ve read a couple of Steve Cavanagh’s books now and I’ve always enjoyed them. This one had two possible outcomes - was Daniel Miller’s wife an accomplice or not? I swayed across both sides and wasn’t sure either way before the last 25% of the book. Cavanagh’s storylines always have me hooked and I really enjoy the scenes played out in the court room. There was quite a big twist in the final 5 or 6 pages which I absolutely did not see coming. Leading up to those pages the story seemed to be all wrapped up then suddenly…..a twist….which I just love so close to the end making it worthwhile to finish those last pages.

Nice mix, i would say. World is divided into two kingdoms: one which was previously lavish now is under curse so rains haven’t stopped for almost 10 years. (Sure there were some happy days when people have hours without a drop of water, but cloudy, rainy weather is on a way to destroy whole kingdom.) Sympathetic neighbor sends aid, but pirates simply don’t care and don’t think about people. Princess of a cursed country should marry prince, so his kingdom will continue sending air and will add more guards to the ships. Will it really help? What could go wrong when this sweet girl, who wants to help her people, will meet prince with cruel and sinister side? What would happen when kind pirate decided to help his kingdom and return stolen aid to the poor people? What secrets and betrayals of the past will be revealed? Can actions of the past finally catch up with our main characters and change their and kingdom’s lives? Everything felt like an ancient fairytale, with nice plot twists, sudden revelations of betrayals and interesting villains. After winning Harry Potter trivia on our cruise and watching @kierra_lewis1 reels I felt the need to visit my favorite wizard. These books hold such a special place in my heart. When my husband and I first started dating I told him he needed to read or be ok with being ignored because I will be reading. He began reading Harry Potter. He was reading a Harry Potter book while staying in the hospital with me as each of our children were born. Then when our children were old enough I cuddled up with them and read the series together. We have listened to the audiobooks on countless road trips. It is part of the fabric of our lives. I am grateful for those memories and for these fantastic books. ENGLISH IN THE COMMENTS! (1/2) Connie Palmens „Vor allem Frauen“ ist eine Essaysammlung über Autorinnen und Autoren, die für Connie Palmens eigenes Schreiben wichtig und prägend waren. Das waren vor allem Frauen (daher der Titel), um genau zu sein Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath, Joan Didion, Vivian Gornick, Janet Malcom, Olivia Laing, und als einziger Mann Philip Roth. Der Band enthält noch einen Essay, dessen Aufhänger das Lied „Lola“ ist und einen Abschlussessay über Sylvia Plath und Ted Hughes. Das Konzept des Buches fand ich gut und interessant. Dass in einem solchen Band die Qualität der Essays unterschiedlich sein kann, versteht sich von selbst. Die beiden ersten Texte über Virginia Woolf und Sylvia Plath sowie der Abschlussessay gehören zu den stärkeren Teilen des Buches. Bei dem Text über Olivia Laing habe ich nicht so recht verstanden, warum er überhaupt in den Band aufgenommen wurde (außer vielleicht als Verlagsentscheidung um auf eine bestimmte Seitenzahl zu kommen), weil er eigentlich weniger Bewunderung als Abwertung ausdrückt. Auch der „Lola“-Essay enthält einige Passagen, die ich als eher problematisch und unreflektiert empfinde. Die größten Probleme hatte ich mit dem Text über Joan Didion, insbesondere mit dem folgenden Satz: „Im Vorfeld der vermaledeiten Sechzigerjahre ist Joan Didion eine zarte, glamouröse, bildhübsche, kettenrauchende und knapp 1,57 Meter kleine Frau, die von täglichen Weinkrämpfen, wöchentlichen Migräneanfällen und einem permanenten Untergewicht geplagt wird.“ Erstens finde ich den Satz an sich schlecht geschrieben (mag aber eventuell an der Übersetzung liegen), zweitens finde ich es absolut inakzeptabel, den Körper und die gesundheitlichen Probleme einer Frau auf diese Art und Weise zu beschreiben - vor allem wenn ihr Körper mit ihrer Arbeit nichts zu tun hat. Dass die Körper von Models oder Spitzensportlerinnen im Zusammenhang mit ihrer Arbeit diskutiert werden, kann ich durchaus nachvollziehen. Aber bei einer Autorin? 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝐻𝒶𝑔𝑔𝒾 𝒞𝑜𝓃𝓃𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝑜𝓃 Amazon has this book listed as age 8-18 but I said I’d give it a read for a family friend. Firstly huge congratulations to @sr_easingwood on publishing his first book, what an accomplishment 👏🏼 I have to say, it’s clearly a child/teenage book but I did enjoy it & found it really easy to read. I could pick it up at any time and fully understand and follow the storyline. The book contains a large amount of Scottish slang spoken by the “Haggi” and whilst there is a glossary at the back for reference I think a child might find it quite difficult to read - though for me it wasn’t an issue and I could follow it easily. I felt the storyline was really imaginative creating a whole separate world of Haggi people and I think there’s room to expand on that and further develop the characters in future books should Stephen wish to. I really felt for Rowena (Duncan’s teacher) after all the bad luck she’s had in life. And that final paragraph about Davy gave me a huge awwwww🥰 moment.

Story takes place in university for young ladies where poetry and writing course welcomes it’s youngest addition to Professor D trophies. Young Laura travelled for the first time in her life and joined prestigious university, and everyone was quite happy to see her, but Carmilla. Before this day Carmilla was the shiniest girls among trophies of professor who is an eccentric woman devoted to the art of poetry. Much to Carmilla’s displeasure Laura caught the eye of the mentor. Jealousy, loneliness, longing and belonging all this feelings wrapped around three women in a dark and possessive knot. Add to this disturbing situation alluring world of vampires, which connects this story to Dowry of Blood, and you will get this dark academia book. I liked the way story was written, how poetic it was and how focused on feelings and thoughts of two young girls. But some parts of the character’s development confused me, especially Professor D’s. She changed her behavior pattern quite drastically, and I’m not sure i understand the whole reasoning. Overall i was quite happy with the story, even if some parts didn’t agree with me. After a balmy couple of days we wake up to a beautiful breezy morning. If you look closely you can see the steam coming up from my TeaFish. I’m enjoying a cuppa of Pouchong (Baozhong) oolong tea. It’s one of the lightest oxidized oolongs and has a lightly floral aroma but definitely not perfumy taste. When I was early in my tea journey, this oolong was the start of my appreciation for green teas due to its light oxidation. Prior to that, I wasn’t a fan of green tea. Przyjrzyjcie się tylko tym szczegółom! Nie wmówicie mi że jest inaczej 🫂 Podczas czytania książki towarzyszyła mi niestety… obojętność. No poza plot twistami gdzie chciałam wstać, rzucić książką i kazać jej ogarnąć się. No ale to chyba klasyczne zachowanie przy plot twistach. Wracając. Czytając książkę nie wciągłam się za bardzo i nie czułam tego aż tak jakbym chciała. Jakbym powinna. Mam wrażenie że ta książka akurat nie trafiła w odpowiedni moment dla mnie… A szkoda. Book Review 📖 𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐖𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐛) Dennis E. Taylor ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 Anyone remember Sylvester Stallone in Spy Kids 3 where he played multiple versions of the Toymaker having meetings with themselves to take over the world? Well, think that but more nerdy and less sinister, and you got yourself this book. In this story, with Bob's conscious being uploaded to a computer and now can create infinite Bobs to explore the universe, we are presented with a relatively low stake space opera. The premise posed a lot of intriguing questions such as whether Bob is still human and what are the other Bobs' relationships to the original in the traditional human society hierarchy. It's a witty commentary on these topics of the interface of humanity and technology, but allows the reader to think on their own. It's also quite entertaining to see the world building expand as the Bobs continue to explore and you can see Taylor's creativity in this universe. Unfortunately I felt that a lot of the charm was lost on me as I'm not a big sci-fi nerd. There's plenty of Star Trek and other sci-fi-y references that went over my head so I felt I missed a lot of the humour. I also feel that the Bobs created at this point were very similar that as opposed to having different characters to bounce off of, so the interactions felt very one dimensional and lacked chemistry. I also wish there was one overarching storyline to tie everything in. As of now there's multiple storylines happening, yet it merely felt like reading various short stories scattered throughout. Overall, I find this first book entertaining but I'm not completely hooked on the series yet. Perhaps down the road when I continue with the rest of the book, I will find more of its charm with a more fledged out story. If you like sci-fi nerdy stuff, then this witty and clever story just might be for you. „Motyl Nocy” - B.M.W. Sobol Powieść oparta na wydarzeniach, które miały miejsce na prawdę. Książka zaczyna się od przyjęcia Birdie na służalczą w rezydencji Ivythorn House. Autorka oddaje klimat wiktoriański, różnice życia pomiędzy państwem a służbą. Służbie towarzyszy przepracowanie, brak wartościowych posiłków, brud i stęchlizna, a rzeczywistość przeplata się z marzeniami o lepsze jutro. Tło całej historii to położenie kobiet i ich sytuacja społeczna za równo tych biednych jak i bogatych. Sama powieść do mnie nie trafiła. Cała historia została opowiedziana nijako i infantylnie. W moim odczuciu zabrakło akcji, kiedy wrzeszczcie coś zaczęło się dziać nastąpił koniec książki i cała tajemnica pamiętnika i jen właścicielki została rozwiązana. Ich hatte in letzter Zeit eine ziemliche Leseflaute und habe nichts gefunden, was mir wirklich gefallen hat, deswegen wollte ich etwas Eingängiges lesen. Robert Seethalters „Der Trafikant“ hatte ich schon länger zu Hause herumliegen (habe ich mal in einer Box mit kostenlosen Büchern entdeckt). Wie erwartet, liest es sich gut und schnell, aber restlos begeistert bin ich - ehrlich gesagt - nicht. Es kommt mir ein bisschen wie „Malen nach Zahlen“ vor: Der naive Junge vom Land, der einen neuen Blick auf eine berühmte Person ermöglicht ... Fairerweise muss man sagen, dass der Roman schon etwas älter ist und viele Bücher dieser Art wahrscheinlich „Der Trafikant“ nachgeahmt haben. Bei der Erstpublikation kam einem der Roman vermutlich also origineller vor als jetzt 12 Jahre später. / I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump recently and haven’t found anything I’ve really enjoyed, so I wanted to read something catchy. I’ve had Robert Seethalter’s “The Tobacconist” lying around for a while (I once discovered it in a box of free books). As expected, it’s a decent and quick read, but to be honest, I’m not completely convinced. It feels a bit like “Painting by Numbers” to me: The naive country boy who gives a new perspective on a famous person ... To be fair, it has to be said that the novel is a bit older and many books of this kind have probably imitated “The Tobacconist”.
