🧙🏻♂️Sorcery of Thorns 🧙🏻♂️ Margaret Rogerson Alors je ne suis pas une habituée des livres avec pour thème tout ce qui relève de la sorcellerie , j’ai du en lire 2 ou 3 x) mais alors ce livre la m’a conquise !! J’ai beaucoup aimé Elisabeth, très téméraire et convaincue de ce qu’elle veut et la voir évoluer ! Tout fait sens, ce n’est pas brutal ni sorti de nulle part j’ai vraiment aimé que son cheminement sois tout à fait logique . Authentique 👌🏼 Et alors Silas .. que dire ! Cœur sur lui vraiment !! Personnage très complexe et je me suis de suite attachée à lui, dès le départ j’avais envie d’en savoir plus sur cet être mystérieux. Bon en fait j’ai ressenti qqch pour chaque personnage 🤩 J’ai beaucoup aimé les petites pointes d’humour, ça apportait beaucoup de fraîcheur à la lecture ! L’histoire des grimoires est vraiment très originale, c’était me plonger dans un univers très magique et clairement pendant un moment j’ai regardé mes propres livres d’une manière différente 😅 Mon sel de cuisine aussi d’ailleurs 😂 chaque fois que j’assaisonne un plat j’ai l’impression d’affaiblir des démons 😅😂 bref je suis dingue 🤪 Franchement j’étais à fond dedans, la magie m’a transportée . 🌹 Fantasy Friday Flatlay 🌹 Three amazing fantasy novels today, that I loved reading but never got round to reviewing. Sorcery Of Thorns: Orphan Elizabeth Scrivener is raised in a library, in a world where books are magical, dangerous and occasionally, monstrous. Pure fantasy fun, with brilliant characters and a very cute romance! I also loved that Elizabeth is a tall female main character - as a tall person myself, it was good to see! Bitterthorn: A dark and gothic, witchy fairytale with a sapphic romance and a crumbling castle. I mean really, need I say more?! I wanted to climb inside this book and live in it. This was a beautiful read, with some moving observations on grief, loneliness, love and belonging. All the dark fairytale vibes you could desire with this one. Nettle and Bone: How have I never reviewed this book before?! This was one of my top reads of last year and is my favourite T Kingfisher book to date. It is a gloriously gothic, yet cosy, witchy fairytale wherein a princess sets out to rescue her sister from an evil Prince. Along the way she meets a dust wife, a disgraced knight and a demonic chicken. There is humour, a very sweet romance, found family and magic. Utterly wonderful! Have you read any of these? Elle est aussi un peu malade ce qui rend le perso encore plus attachant. ⤷ On a bien-sûr le perso masculin arrogant, intelligent et charmant que la plupart des gens adorent (coupable) et ce mélange marche vraiment très bien ! ⤷ Silas, c'est le personnage secondaire qu'on voit le plus et quel personnage ! Honnêtement, je suis tombée amoureuse de lui et si vous devez lire ce livre pour une seule bonne raison, c'est lui. La définition même du personnage froid mais qui a un cœur en or et il vous fera pleurer c'est certain ! ⤷ Les retournements de situation sont tout le temps présent et même quand vous pensez savoir ce qu'il va se passer, vous avez toujours un élément de surprise, ce qui m'a réellement donné envie de ne jamais poser le livre ! Je ne me suis pas ennuyée une seconde ! 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬 : ⤷ Certaines personnes trouveront sans doute que la romance n'est pas assez présente. My “Death To The Undying” themed Young Adult April OwlCrate box came in the mail yesterday, and I’m so excited that the April book of the month is Your Blood, My Bones by @kayaydrew, because I’ve had my eyes on this book for a while now. The plot sounds really interesting to me. Plus, the OwlCrate exclusive cover for the is absolutely gorgeous! 😍 When it comes to the items in this month’s box, my favorite is definitely the Reading Checklist. I finished #SorceryofThorns by #MargaretRogerson and the novella #MysteriesofThornManor a little bit ago. While I did enjoy it, I feel like there were some weird pacing choices. Perhaps that is because it is a standalone? Besides that, I thought it was pretty cute. Fairly decent world building as well. I was a bit annoyed that Rogerson made it a point to say that Thorn hadn't been seen dancing with anyone at the balls and then we never got a scene where he does end up dancing with Elisabeth. You can't just throw that out there to get put in my head and never follow up on it. Together with some wonderful bookstagrammers, including @archbibliomage who graciously provided the book, we are embarking on a traveling book project.🤩 We recently selected 𝘚𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘴 by Margaret Rogerson through a vote. The book’s first journey begins with me here in Denmark, and then it will travel onwards to the UK before ultimately returning to its originator, @archbibliomage, in the US.✨ It’s such a delightful and amusing thought that the book will travel far and wide across the world! It’s truly a sweet idea.🗺️🤩 The plan is for each of us, including @kir_readsbooks, @twistedserpente_reads, @hopelesspocusreads, @claireoffire, and @roofscozylife, to annotate it or leave notes for the next reader, adding our own unique touches along the way. Happy Sunday!!....💬.....any plans today? We're off out with my family for my Uncle's birthday to a golf club that's been there since 1904! Me revoilà avec un avis de fin de lecture sur 𝕄𝕪𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕠𝕗 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕣𝕟 𝕄𝕒𝕟𝕠𝕣 de Margaret Rogerson (@margaret_rogerson ) Attention, ce petit volume fait suite à Sorcery of Thorns, et peut donc spoiler le roman :) Ma chronique ne contiendra cependant pas de spoil majeur sur le roman ~ Piégés par les protections magiques qui viennent de se déclencher, Elisabeth, Nathaniel et Silas se retrouvent enfermés dans le Manoir des Thorn. Afin de pouvoir reprendre le cours normal de leur vie et de pouvoir organiser le Bal d'Hiver, ils vont devoir trouver ce qui cloche avec le manoir. Le manoir, à l'image des grimoires, semble prendre vie au fil des pages, animé d'une intention propre et d'une âme ancienne. Au fur et à mesure des pérégrinations des personnages entre ses murs, on en découvre plus sur l'histoire de l'illustre famille de sorciers. Entre les nouveaux grimoires aux caractères bien trempés, les objets maudits et les salles cachées et oubliées depuis des années, les péripéties du trio, rejoints par Mery, sont loin d'être terminées ! J'ai été ravie de pouvoir continuer mon périple dans cet univers créé par Margaret Rogerson, qui sera sans doute l'un de mes favoris ! Amour des livres oblige, les voir prendre vie sous nos yeux m'a réjouie au plus haut point! Et entre l'évolution de la relation entre Elisabeth et Nathaniel, et la découverte plus approfondie du personnage de Silas, notamment par les interprétations de l'héroïne quant à ses réactions et grâce aux questions qu'elle lui pose pour tenter de le connaître mieux, j'ai adoré ce petit sequel très agréable à lire, tout cosy ❤️ Et vous, l'avez-vous lu?
