Someone forgot to turn their watch off when they finished their run πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ What do people run too? I usually listen to dance anthems and today mixed it up to rap (Eminem has a new song and I let Spotify do its thing!) But I really did not feel my run and it was way slower than run 1! At least the run is done! Next run is on Sunday. Week 7 of 30 results. RESULT: Average 76.3kg, loss 1.2kg Total loss so far: 3.6kg SUMMMARY: I've had a good week, helped by avoiding too many meals out and a chilled bank holiday at home. Getting the steps in was more of challenge though, lazy days make it harder and the rain put me off my long weekend run. Still managed it - I've got my eye on the garmin 60 day goal streak badge! I've been feeling a bit run down this week, part of the reason we decided not to go away for half term. A weekend spent snugging with the kids and not seeing anyone was just what the doctor ordered. I'm running a few days late with my period as well which hasn't helped matters but I think this stand-off will end today as I saw a whopping 0.5kg gain this morning on the scales. Swelly belly incoming. Does anyone else suffer massively with water weight? It fluctuates so badly. My huge loss this week is in part due to the water retention of the week before. I used to think it was an allergy but I can't pin point it. I was over on my weekly calories this week (about 500 in total) but was more mindful of the treats. On track and happy with progress. I'm about a week ahead of myself but expect my period this week will mean I'm weighing a bit heavier next time. 1.Calories under 12,362 week/1766 daily❌️ 2.10k steps a dayβœ”οΈ 3.No mindless treats in the eveningβœ”οΈ GOAL: My target is to get down to the top end of my 'normal' BMI range, which is 66.4kg, by the end of this year. DISASTER at work today. I was out visiting a client and my watch ran out of battery at lunchtime, meaning when I got home at 18:00 I'd only done 1900 steps of my 10k daily goal. I was facing an hour of marching on the spot in my living room 😫 I just couldn't do it, so despite the rain I laced up and went out for my run. Garnin has adjusted my max HR down a bit recently. It seems my heart doesn't need to work quite so hard, which is great news for my fitness levels. As a result, my base pace keeps adjusting as well, and today my slow run pace is 7:45min/km. Probably means nothing to anyone except me, but I'm happy with the little improvements. My run got me out of my work funk too. Mr T had the day off with the kids and I had the grumps πŸ˜‚ running always makes me feel brighter. The Inner Child's Grip on Your Adult Diet: Unveiling the Hidden Controller You might think that as an adult, you're in control of your food choices. You believe that every meal and snack is a decision made by the mature, rational you. But have you ever found yourself reaching for comfort foods during stress, or eating beyond fullness for no apparent reason? The truth is, your inner child is often the one dictating your adult food intake. Chances are, this part of you doesn't even realize how old you are or how much you're actually eating (not enough). May Goals Update: Some of my goals are going very well…some not so much, and that’s okay!! My step goal: currently at 322,066 steps out of my 350,000 step goal, which means I only need to hit about 7000 steps a day for the rest of May to hit the goal. 2 pull ups: I am sooooooo close! unfortunately, I did not hit my goal of getting three outdoor walks a week. This is something I can strive for again and next month. I would say I kept an 80/20 eating routine! Overall, being 4 days out from the end of the month, I’m not upset at how I did this month! Going tech free and embracing the moment, No step count, no calorie burn, no interruptions, just peaceful steps 🌿✨ Ditching my Apple Watch last week has to be one of most freeing things I’ve done lately. I Never realised how exhausting it was. Constant notifications πŸ“£ Telling me to Stand, Move, Exercise Looking to see what calories I’d burnt Constantly looking at how many steps I’d done Ringing Text messages It was constant ping ping ping 😑 One week in with a basic watch that just tells you what time it is has been eye opening, step count ? unknown, calories burnt ? unknown, zero notifications, zero texts, zero calls, it’s been bliss 😍 The strange thing is in removing the pressure and the constant prompting to move has resulted in me actually moving more than ever due to it being my choice and not being told too. Don’t get me wrong step goals are fab for those who don’t move a lot and want to do more, but I think it can hinder us too, I know for me sometimes I would look at my Apple Watch, say it’s says I’ve done 10k steps, I will take my foot off the gas and think I’ve done enough now and be abit lazy for the rest of the day. That was close! 😰🫣 my 39-day streak for my 10k steps a day goal was nearly ruined! 11:15pm, an unusually late night for us, Mr T and I were finishing off our chats and about to head to bed when I realise with a start that I hadn't got all my steps in today and was about 5000 short. The thunderstorms called off play earlier, and by the time it had cleared up, we'd eaten a big meal and I can't run when I'm Sunday-dinner-full. Managed to march around the living room to get the extra I needed in, just managing to hit 10k before the step counter reset. A bit too close for comfort that! I've got my eye on the 60 day goal streak badge in Garmin 😁 I set myself this 10k a day step challenge back in January as a NY resolution. It has worked much better than 'run 3 times a week', and it ensures my overall activity level is high even when I'm not actively exercising. That was my problem, really. I'd do a great run 3 or 4 times a week, but on non-exercise days, I might only do 3k steps because I work from home mainly behind a desk. Week 6 of 30 results. RESULT: Average 77.5kg, gain 0.5kg Total loss so far: 2.4kg SUMMMARY: This is the balancing out I referred to last week. The increased running resulted in more water retention as my muscles heal, there has been a lot of bread involved - burgers and picnic sandwiches, which my body likes to hold on to for a little while, and I've struggled with energy this week so have reached for extra snacks, not always good choices - all impacting the number on the scale this week. I've also not been within my average calorie target for the week (though under my maintenance), we've not been at home as much which makes it harder to count and estimate calories and I've had a few desserts. It's as expected. It's important to realise weight loss isn't linear. I'm deliberately trying to lose weight slowly and steadily over a long amount of time. This makes it easier to achieve and easier to maintain. But the extra calories means I'm not obsessing over each meal and can happily enjoy desserts and meals out with family and friends. Quieter week anticipated this week, unless we decide to book a cheeky trip away for the bank holiday, which is a possibility! 1.Caloriesunder 12,362 week/1766 daily❌️ 2.10k steps a dayβœ”οΈ 3.No mindless treats in the evening❌️ GOAL: My target is to get down to the top end of my 'normal' BMI range, which is 66.4kg, by the end of this year.
