September Reads ✨ My target for the month of September was to read 8 books! But life had other plans 😅 On another note, I absolutely loved Happy Place and Magnolia Parks definitely in the top 10 reads of this year! 😊 #book #books #bookstagramfrance #booklover #booklover #read #reading #septemberreads #septemberreadingclub

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! I LOVED this book. This was so eye-opening, but considering it’s fiction it touched upon tough current events and topics facing the gymnastics/Olympics world. This was a book where you cheered for the main character to succeed in going to the Olympics and you were equally crushed time and time again when her dreams were cut off. Such a wild ride of emotions and what it takes to be a great athlete today. #septemberreads #septemberreadingclub #goodreads #fivestarread #fivestarreviews #bookworm #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram

The Coworker by Frieda McFadden ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Huge McFadden fan here, but this didn’t quite reach 4 stars for me. The ending left some loose ends which I’m never a fan of, and for the first time with one of McFadden’s books, I really disliked the narrator. Nonetheless, it was a great read to kick off the cozy-in-bed-during-a-category-4-hurricane season. What should I read next? 💭 #thecoworker #friedamcfadden #septemberreads #septemberreadingclub #whatsonyourbookshelf #readingchallenge #bookly #bookmoodboard #bookishrep

Happy Sunday! I’m getting a little reading in with my morning coffee, before our busy scheduled day. The weather here in NE has started cooling down over night into the morning, giving us a hint of the fall weather around the corner. What are your Sunday plans? We will be attending the last day of the local Sunflower Festival🌻, but there is a little bookstore near us we are planning on browsing through first. Hope you guys have a wonderful Sunday! Just finished my first audio book. Realized I really like the author to read faster than normal. Who knew 😅 If You Tell by @greggolsen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Review: Holy Canoli. That was a roller coaster of a ride. I’m actually extremely pleased that I chose to listen to this book than read it. The narrator did extremely well with reading it. With that said, the amount of 😱😱😱 that went on in this book. Each chapter just gets worse and worse. I feel for those girls. I feel for Shane. The manipulation is just mind blowing. But if you grow up in environments like this, scan one be really at fault for not thinking this is how all families are?

Dragon update, finished The Last Dragonslayer : The Chronicles of Kazam Book 1, by Jasper Fforde. Really enjoyed, funny, creative, dragon and slayer are traditional, yet not. Regent: Dragons Have Plans of Their Own and Adventures Ensue by Brian Rathbone. Lots going on, plenty of exciting dragon battles. Next up, continuing Eon Dragoneye Reborn-Goodman and started The Woods Out Back- Salvatore. Only 10 days left to finish 2 books, it's not a race, but so far I like the stories and looking forward to climatic endings! #dragons #readingchallenge #septemberreadingclub #fantasybooksseries #fantasybooks #dragonslayer #dragonmagic

Book Review 🍂 .... "The Palace of Illusions" is the story of the great epic Mahabharata. The story is from the perspective of Draupadi. The writing is powerful and completely vivid. It is very interesting to read it from her perspective. I'll highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know the story of Mahabharata and the feelings of the Draupadi. But if you're the one who has deep knowledge of Mahabharata I won't recommend it to you as certain things will piss you off. Also, I don't like the way Karna has been described but it is overall a good book. Pick it if you want to know Mahabharata and the feelings of Draupadi. ... September’s crept through the door while I was sleeping. There’s no blue in the sky and the air breathes an almost chill on my legs as I stand there wondering if I should hang the washing out or not. Normal routine is about to fold itself around me like a blanket, with its comforts and restrictions. . September is a time of endings and beginnings. I’ve got my new stationary ready for school tomorrow and a brilliant book I started in the holidays to finish. I’ve got hope for the new term and some sunny memories I’d quite like to be in still. No doubt I’ll start with good intentions, healthy breakfast prepared in advance and then we’ll see where I go. Do you still get any of these feelings if you don’t work in a school? Are they summoned up from childhood? . I’ve got lots of bookish happenings to look forward to this month and ease me into Autumn - Daisy Lafarge in conversation at @storysmithbooks for starters in a few weeks time. The Booker shortlist announced. Wainwright winners crowned. A signed copy of Bewilderment preordered. Bookclub actually in person to discuss China Iron and Liz. . What adventures and excitements , bookish or otherwise, are you excited about right now? Give me lots to summon up Pollyanna with and be glad about!

"love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it" - Nicholas Spark i was postponing reading this light and delightful romantic read for a while now, mainly because romantic novels are such cliches. but september made me commit to it, and i was finally at North Carolina a town of humble people and Jamie Sullivan a short and comprehensive book, puts a smile on your face, and tears the very next moment. i read it in about two and a half hours. i recommend this if other works such as "the fault in our stars" and "the notebook" mesmerizes you or if you wish to escape for a while from your heavy reads and shitty world also, what are your october reads and did you accomplish your september tbr? #mannkibaaat

QOTD- Do self-help books give you the adrenaline rush that fades away after a while? Or Do you feel motivated even after a long time of reading book? Comment 💬 your answer👇 and tag your friends who feel likewise. Here is mine👉 AOTD- I love self-help books more than any other genre and I frequently read this type of books that keep me motivated. I feel reading just one or two motivational books for once can't help you throughout your life, especially in times like these when negativity is ubiquitous. So, one should either repeat reading book several times or read different how-to books at regular intervals. Here is a set of 10 highly effective books, each one carries more than enough potential required to change your life, world/work perspective altogether. Be the master of your mind and make it work for you. You are not meant to do as your mind influenced by the world wishes. Read more and take the reins of your mind in your hands. I'd recommend some of these books on the scale of highly recommended(1)to recommended(5). 1. #canthurtme by @davidgoggins 2. #shoedog by @whatsphilworriedabouttoday 3. #atomichabits by @jamesclear 4. #egoistheenemy by @ryanholiday 5. #12rulesforlife by @jordan.b.peterson Follow and share @read2__lead #bookstagram #motivationalbooks #booksforthisweek #bookreview #photooftheday #learning #selfhelpbooks #bookstock #septemberreadingclub #newbooklist #readerscommunity

#fantasychallengeseptember Day 1! Take a selfie with your book or your favorite book! . Fun fact! I hate taking selfies so I chose to have my puppy Pumpernickel pose with my book The Nameless and my favorite book Pride and Prejudice! She humored next for a moment until she tried to eat my books. . The Nameless is obviously close to my heart because I created it so it will always be super special to me! Pride and Prejudice has been my obsession since 2005 and has continued to inspire me since I first read it. I’m not talking about the 2005 movie, I am talking about the pure magic that is the actual book! Jane Austen was amazing and even after having been dead for over 200 years she continues to inspire people with her stories. That is amazing to me! #janeiteforever . September Story a Day 📚 . The purpose of this month of stories isn’t just to encourage families to read that don’t, but to encourage people to make more time for books. Whether it’s a child reading or parent reading, stories are so important and so lovely to share. . We always read a few stories to the boys before bedtime and sometimes we have ‘story time’ in the day time too. Stanley also reads his reading book to us everyday as part of his home learning so we do have a lot of books and reading going on in our household already; but I am definitely going to make an effort for more ‘story time’ in the day. . Stanley is a big fan of David Walliams at the moment (we read them to him) and Albie- Julia Donaldson, who’s books have always been a firm favourite in our family! . So September Story a Day is about reading an extra story/chapter a day to your child than you usually would...I’m getting involved, are you? 📖 . #septemberstoryaday #septemberstorytime #readmorethismonth #septemberreadingchallenge #septemberreadingclub

Hola! I am finally posting my TBR for #letsreadshortbooks readathon by @botopsy_ and yours truly. We are overwhelmed by the response as we already have 40+ participants. 😍 It was tough to sort these books as I had multiple books for some prompts but I tried to select the shortest ones. Afterall, that’s the point of this readathon. So, here’s a list. ✅A book in your mother tongue - Jave tyanchya desha by Pu. La. Deshpande ( 187 Pages) - Marathi ✅A book on woman empowerment or with female protagonists - We all should be feminists by ( Audiobook - 45 Minutes) ✅A poetry collection- The universe of us Lang Leav ( 128 pages)  ✅A book with a number or a colour in its title - The new one minute manager by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson( 106 pages) ✅A book you read because of its cover art - No man is island by Ruskin Bond ( 179 Pages) ✅A debut book - Dopehari by Pankaj Kapoor ( 77 pages) ✅A book that you are re-reading - The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo ( 161 pages)  ✅A book of the horror genre - Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens ( 116 pages) ✅A book published in the 19th century - Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman ( 18 pages)  ✅A memoir - The clothing of books by Jhumpa Lahiri ( 71 pages) ✅A non-fiction - ( Same as prompt 4 ) ✅A book that is translated (From Kannada to English) - Ghachar Ghochar by Vivek Shanbhag ( 128 pages - Translated by Shrinath Perur)  ✅A literary fiction - Animal Farm by George Orwell ( 112 pages)  ✅A mythological fiction - The daughter's from a wishing tree by Sudha Murthy (180 pages)  This, I feel is a very practical TBR as some of these are extremely short. Let's hope I read these all. 🙈 Wish me luck. Also, if you have read any of these, share your thoughts in comments. 😁 Happy Weekend.

The Lost Children Archive is the story of one family’s journey from New York to the Mexican border in order to document the crisis of migrants attempting to cross into the States. As the family set out on their long journey they each take a box. The parents have already filled theirs with equipment to record sounds but the children take empty boxes to fill with memories from the trip. Both parents, who remain nameless in the novel, are makers of audio documentaries. The wife wants to trace two missing girls from Mexico, she’s been helping their mother in the US find out what happened to them as they were last seen in a detention centre near the border. The husband wants to record aural traces of the Apache tribe who once populated the Arizona state and visit the graves of its most notable leader Geronimo. The children appear to have little choice in this long road trip and the journey is filled with stories of migrant children lost in the desert and stories of mistreatment of the Apache tribe. Early one morning after many weeks of travelling the boy hatches a plan to run away and follow in the footsteps of the migrant children and maybe find the missing girls their mother has talked non stop about. This part of the book documents accounts of real missing children and fictional stories of what might have happened to them along the way. It’s perhaps in these chapters were the book picks up pace finally and the most disconcerting part too. I enjoyed the book a lot and I can see why it was longlisted for the Booker Prize. It’s definitely a book that feels very relevant to the current migrant crisis. Little Women ( and Good Wives ) by Louisa May Alcott: I loved this book so very much. It's emotional and heartwarming. It made me cry many times and made me laugh even more. Unsurprisingly, Jo is my favorite character. I just love how wild, free, and creative she is. My other favorite character is Laurie, where can I get a bf like him? He is intelligent, funny, thoughtful, and nice just like he is adventurous and mischievous. basically the book is about four sisters who are so different yet share so much. It's a story about their growth, dreams, friendships, and romantic relationships. It's about their struggles with poverty and the hardships of life. It's also about their love and affection towards each others, their parents, and strangers. Two things I didn't like in the book: I was disappointed by Jo's decisions at the end of the book ( text me if you wanna talk about it ) and I hated when the narrator moved from third person omniscient to first person.

💬👇 Beijos, Madie💜

Naledi His Love is the 3rd novel in the Hlomu series. That one faithful day when Naledi was going on about her life, she did not know that she would meet her greatest love, Qhawe Zulu. Soon she comes head to head with reality and understands that loving Qhawe means loving all of his dark tumultuous past. The silver lining is that she gets to enjoy the lavish benefits of being a Zulu wife. I highly recommend the whole series. #coffeetablewords #bookreviews2019 #africanauthors #love #septemberreadingclub

Muito obrigada a quem participou 🥰 Parceria: @diaryofabookishgirl_ @aavintageworld #bookstagram #instabooks  #bibliophile #booknerd  #bookaholic #bookgram #yabooks #bookphotography #yafiction #booklove #bookcommunity #readmorebooks #bookrecommendations #bookreader #bookishgirl #booklover #bookshelf #bookworm #portuguesebookstagrammer
