Θα σου πω τι παίζει με τους αγώνες δρόμου. Θέλουμε να πάμε για να "γιορτάσουμε τη χαρά του αγώνα", αλλά θέλουμε να πάμε και καλύτερα από την προηγουμένη φορά (αν το έχουμε ξανατρέξει). Οκ. Πολύ λογικό και δίνει και κίνητρο για τις προπονήσεις. Κάπου θες να φτάσεις. Έχεις ένα στόχο. Δεν ήμουν πάντα τόσο κουλ βέβαια και συνειδητοποιημένη. Στην αρχή ειδικά. Υπάρχουν φορές που εχω τρέξει και ήθελα οπωσδήποτε να περάσω κάποιον από τους δρομείς που θεωρούσα ότι "θα έπρεπε" να είναι πιο αργοί από μένα. Γιατί εγώ τρέχω τόσο καιρό και οι άλλοι απλά δήλωσαν τον αγώνα για την πλάκα τους! Για πολύ καιρό, όσο κι αν έτρεχα, ήμουν από τους αργούς δρομείς (καλά κι ακόμα δε με λες γρήγορη! 😄) Και έλεγα "απλά έτσι είμαι. Δε μπορώ να τρέξω πιο γρήγορα." Χρειάστηκε μεγάλη διαδρομή κι ένας προπονητής που μπήκε στην ψυχολογία μου και μου είπε την αγαπημένη μου φράση που με κέρδισε "τρέχουμε για να το απολαύσουμε. Μου φαίνεσαι κουρασμένη (στα αποτελέσματα των προπονήσεων), να ρίξουμε λίγο ρυθμούς;" Ναι, άλλοι μπορεί να χρειάζονται πίεση. Εγώ δε χρειάζομαι άλλη μια πηγή τύψεων. Και μάντεψε. Άρχισα να τρέχω λίγο πιο γρήγορα. Έτσι όμορφα και χωρίς να νιώθω ότι δεν μπορώ να συνεχίσω. 45 minutes easy @ 140-149 HR- 146 AVG and first time I’ve had a run average in the 10’s with at HR anywhere in the 140s since January! If you swipe you’ll see that 1 month ago on 3/27 the same exact HR average was a 15:00 pace in the height of my vitamin D toxicity issue. The science nerd inside of me really has enjoyed the data of all of this, at least now being on the other side. It was definitely very frustrating at the time. 😅 Race week for me! I have a double event coming up this weekend, the @dsmwhm I’ll be running 5K Saturday night and 10K Sunday morning. I did the same races last year and it was super fun! It’s been a minute since I actually posted but on this, my 8 year anniversary of running, I couldn’t not post! I wish I could say that I ran 8 miles in celebration but that’s just NOT where my fitness is currently. 🤪 Instead, I followed my Garmins suggested workout and ended up with a total of 4 miles. That works! 😁 I can’t believe I’ve been able to call myself a runner for 8 years! 🫢 As someone who grew up playing sports where running was punishment and I STRUGGLED 🤢, never in a million years did I think I would fall in love with it and that I would plan family vacations around races and meet up with random strangers from the internet to run with! It is SO wild that because of @toneitup and their old workouts that suggested 20 minutes of cardio along with the strength, I became a runner! And not just any runner, a marathoner x 3, and Dopey Challenge finisher x 2! It is because of running that I now know, I truly can do hard freaking things! It’s officially race week!! And this might be my last run before next Sunday 😑 Started having the same pain in my leg as yesterday and had to stop and stretch it out twice. Once I stretched it was fine. My quads are also really sore 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ I’m a tapering disaster 🤣 Will take it one day at a time this week. Tackled my hill on this one, saw a snake, missed the rain by a min and got a big rock stuck in between the foam in my shoe (and it was really stuck, almost couldn’t get it out). Super fascinating comparison of my #heart rate between yesterday's tough #hillrepeats and today's "easy" run. My heart rate was way higher today, even though I was going slower! First #race of the year! Pretty good way to start 😎💕🔥✨ 🏅 2nd place in 35-39 age group 🏃♀️ pace: 08:18 🏁 5k #Vintage5k This was a last minute registration. I literally signed up the night before cuz I want to support one of my friends. He placed in his age group as well (Coach Norm🥳). This was a great start for my first race of the year. The race overall was flat. Pacing was good. Went out at 8min/mile pace. Then kept that pace throughout the race. Sprinted the last 25 meters of the course. Kept my eye on the goal and here I am. 💪🏽😊 It was also like a mini reunion because I was able to reunite with some of my friends who I haven’t seen in awhile (Coach Norm, Dee Dee, Skai, Van, Dr Velasco) 🫶🏼 Reminder to myself and all the mamas out there, you are stronger than you think you are. Dig deep. Do something you love and there you will find the community who love and support you. ❤️ P.S. 💚Den grønne halvmarathon 💚 ————————————————————————————— Et løb jeg ikke har prøvet før og havde lidt sommerfugle i maven over, fordi jeg havde hørt, at der var KÆMPE bakker 🫣 Jeg ved ikke, om jeg løb den rigtige vej, men jeg kom aldrig forbi de KÆMPE bakker, som jeg havde hørt om og frygtet 🤪 Jeg havde den skønneste rolige tur med Sophie og dagens mål var at få hende igennem 💙 Det gik rigtig fint de første 9 km, så blev hun lidt ramt af bakkerne. Men hun løb stædigt videre i et roligere tempo. Så sej! Ved km 19 var jeg dog nødt til at slippe hende, fordi jeg havde så ondt i knæene af at holde igen🥺 Så afsted med mig og i mål! Skøn skøn rute!
