Starting to be more intentional about sharing reviews again cause it’s been a hot minute & I think we need to get back to how it was way back in the beginning & posting once we finish a book while the thoughts are still fresh 💕 So here we go! Flawless (17/12 for 2024) well…I can definitely see the hype for the cowboys but I just wanted more from this one, it was just missing something. I sorta felt like the relationship between Summer & Rhett was rushed & almost insta-lovey which is not a trope I like. Speaking of tropes I don’t think I would label this an enemies to lovers cause they really didn’t not like each other it was more two people who were annoyed with each other turned lovers…soooo I also felt like there were so many missed opportunities throughout the book to make things less rushed, we could have gotten some fantastic close proximity scenes while they traveled just saying. For me the best part of the book had to have been the last 30% if I could have gotten more of the book to be like that I think I’d definitely rate it higher than the 3⭐️ I’m giving it. What I did love is Rhett’s protectiveness & the way he persued Summer especially towards the end when we see him become vulnerable while still being his rugged bull riding self. The Philosophy Of Love is another story filled with plenty of laughs. Alice’s return to her little home town to move back in with her parents isn’t living the dream. When she bumps into Luke after an embarrassing situation who she used to go to school with they make a bet about finding love. I loved Alice and Luke, there is something about Rebecca’s characters she creates, a little bit of relatability, bit flawed and people you might know. Although there is a touch of seriousness at times, it’s the humour and the dialogue between the characters I adore with Rebecca’s stories. So easy to read and a perfect pick me up. Book Review: Comfort Eating by Grace Dent ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved this. I mean what's not to love about a book with whole chapters on things like butter and bread? I laughed out loud, and fully related to it a lot. There is a little duplication with some anecdotes from Hungry, but they always enhance the food memory. My favourite parts were the recipes and the dictionary corner. ✨Book Review ✨ One in a Millennial - Kate Kennedy ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I received this via NetGalley and I started off really liking the book. I found some things relatable but also super specific to a certain type of millennial. But this book was marketed as not a memoir but it really felt a lot like one. Kate tells her view of her life growing up at the start of the internet right up to present day. I got a bit bored in the middle and picked up at the end for me. One in a Millennial is about the exploration of pop culture and nostalgia of the 90s-2010s. She explores her upbringing and the world around her. While there was parts that was entertaining it is a mix of a lot of things. It’s written in different parts and broken into different essays and sides notes. Audiobook review: The Golden Girls' Road Trip by Kate Galley 🎧 3.5 ⭐ A nice book, and I liked the main characters being in their golden years. The narrator worked well for the main character, did all the voices well, and I enjoyed listening. Some serious topics are touched upon in this book, but handled sensitively. I just wish characters would talk to each other, as that would solve most issues - but then I guess it would be a short book haha I loved the roadtrip, and the descriptions of places I've been to or now want to go to. Felt like I was journeying with the characters. #wednesdayswereadpink Book Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin 4.75 🌟 This series just keeps getting better and better. I love the characters, even the evil ones, because they are so fully realised. I genuinely care about them, and this added to the tension and the emotions! The story had me gripped, and even when you thought you had things sussed, it smacked you over the head for being a simpleton. 💕On Wednesdays we read Pink 💕 Predictive text time: Live from New York It’s… Romantic Comedy: A Novel Curtis Sittenfeld ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 Holy moly, what a great read. This isn’t your run of the mill romance novel. Firstly we meet Sally who is a writer on The Night Owls commonly known as TNO, this is basically a fictional version of Saturday night live and the first half of the book revolves around a week long on set from the development to performance of an episode. The host Noah is a singer/songwriter, gorgeous and also a great guy which of course starts having instant chemistry with Sally. But is isn’t a movie, it’s real life so Sally the no one isn’t going to end up with the dreamboat celebrity (that only happens for the male nobodies on the show). We then skip forward two years to pandemic America and follow Sally as she finds her footing in this new normal including an email from that pop star who was on the show 2 years ago. Some of the novel is then a series of emails back and forth before we switch back to a real time narrative. I lapped this book up. The TNO chapters were as if we got a sneak peak on the workings of SNL and I found it fascinating, it was great to have an interesting background plot and learn some things while the romance storyline was flowing well. In the acknowledgements the author references an amazing amount of research into the subject and it’s probably why the novel feels so realistic and not fantasised subplot. The rest of the book is really thoughtful and even though there are moments when the FMC puts her foot in it, they aren’t annoying, unrealistic antics like pretending to be someone else or wearing a costume to disguise yourself you find in some books, but highly realistic “f#%k! Why did I say that” moments. Only reason I think I didn’t give 5 stars is the novel started so well and so differently to so many contemporary romances but it went back to usual pattern of 3rd act break up which I’m not sure was needed. There are funny moments, heart breaking moments and some wonderful thoughts into the modern day gender roles and presumed rules of dating. #wednesdayswereadpink #bookreview #romanticcomedyanovel

🤍 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆/𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 🤍 Hi friends! 🥰 These past few months have flown by. They’ve been filled with vacations, helping friends move/renovate, family time, and class work. Last week, I sat for the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) exam and passed! Bookstagram has been put on the back burner for a while. I’ve honestly been in a major social media slump and lacked the motivation to engage/post on here. However… I’ve read some amazing books that I can’t wait to share on here! So, I’m feeling a comeback, even if it’s not consistent 😂 Last month, I found one of my new favorite books- Perfect Strangers by J.T. Geissinger. I promise a review is coming VERY soon. I buddy-read it with @murphy_overbooked and it left us both speechless. Well, actually the opposite of speechless…check out Katie’s review to see some of our commentary 😂 I just finished Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, and I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner. I audibly gasped at least 3 times while reading last night. Now I’m starting Losing Hope, and will probably finish it within the next 24 hours. 💖Wednesdays We Read Pink💖 Finding Love At Hedgehog Hollow by @jessicaredlandauthor Published by @bookandttonic 🦔 My Thoughts🦔 I love my sweet reads and even the title of this book is adorable and anything with animals in I’m sold. I loved everything about this story and even though a lot of sweetness there was some harder issues facing the main character Samantha. I really liked Samantha and her relationship with her father was lovely but it was interesting how her relationship with her mother was explored showing that mother and daughter relationships aren’t always TV perfect. I actually hated Samantha’s mother and I didn’t think much for Samantha’s cousin but I don’t care for selfish people in real life so selfish book people get the same disdain from me. Meeting some cute little hedgehogs didn’t come till quite a way into the story but it was worth the wait and with a bit romance and a cantankerous old man in the story (I do love grumbly old people) it would be impossible not to fall in love with Hedgehog Hollow. This was an actually a #neglectedfaithfuls read, I have the 2nd and 3rd book in the series and I bought the 4th one at the weekend as I loved this one so much. I certainly won’t be neglecting the other books for long. If you love Away with the Penguins and Call of the Penguins you will adore a visit to Hedgehog Hollow.
