He was possessive and always made her do things his way. He was so toxic for her that he sabotaged her growth and broke her mentally. She comes to Norwich to escape from her toxic boyfriend. Nico, Lauren’s brother comes to pick her. As soon as she settle in the cottage, strange things starts happening. Despite all the arrangements being made, she feels a strange kind of fear and soon it becomes so creepy for her when someone tries to comes inside the cottage and someone in Norwich around them is found dead. Soon her biggest fear comes true but what’s more terrifying is everyone is harbouring a secret. And things get messed up. The plot twists were shocking. The author did such a brilliant job. Happy Pub Day @keri.beevis 🥳 It’s no secret that I love Keri’s books and her writing. She is an auto-read/buy author for me! Nowhere to Hide is Keri’s newest psychological thriller novel and the story gets dark and emotional. The main character, Callie, meets the famous Duncan Stone and thinks she has landed the fairy tale romance. Unfortunately, she soon learns that he and their relationship is in fact too good to be true. There are so many twists that this book will have you hooked. There were parts of this book that were hard to read, so with that being said, I do not recommend this book if you have triggers to domestic violence, dog abuse, or gaslighting. Other than that, I would recommend reading this book especially if you love domestic suspense books that will keep you rooting for the main character and open your eyes to other women’s experiences. This thriller had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! Callie’s whirlwind romance with the handsome Duncan quickly becomes a nightmare when his charming exterior hides a dangerously controlling man. The build-up of tension as Callie realizes she needs to escape is excruciating. When she thinks she has found a safe hiding place, the suspense ramps up even further, making me wonder if Duncan has tracked her down or if the danger is coming from someone else. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very last page. This fast-paced psychological thriller sucks you in and doesn’t let go. With a compelling lead character and a villain that made my skin crawl, this book hits all the marks for an exceptional read. Keri Beevis never disappoints! What an addictive page turner! 📖❤️ He seemed like the perfect boyfriend. Duncan came across as charming, intelligent, caring, and generous. But soon after moving in, Callie learned his true nature. He is diabolical, controlling, and cruel. Getting away will prove to be beyond difficult. Now after being helped, she is in hiding and setting up a new life for herself in Norfolk. But due to everything Duncan has put her through, she has a hard time relaxing. She is constantly checking her surroundings and fearing for her safety. I thought Beevis did a great job showing how traumatized Callie is because of the abuse she suffered. She is hypervigilant and anxious as a result. This book was full of tension and a sense of danger. The pacing was spot on and kept me turning the pages. I enjoyed the mounting suspense and found myself feeling concerned for several characters. There is also a side story about a missing young woman that comes into play as well. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, Beevis threw in another twist and reveal! What a page turner! Well written, well thought out, gripping, shocking and tense! Just finished this one and wow, what a book! I love a mystery thriller with a good build up, and after a bit of a slow start, this one definitely did the job! I really love the 'past catching up with them' trope, and this one really managed to keep the mystery alive for me with twists and turns right up until the very last page (literally)! Takes a lot to shock and surprise me with these kind of thrillers, because I've read so many of them, the more gruesome the better, but this one did both. Nobody suspects that this handsome man is a monster - with his celebrity status, he has a lot of contacts and a lot of power.👺 The story plays out quickly, as this is definitely a horrifying and tense page-turner. Callie just wants her normal life back. Duncan just wants to make sure Callie is dead, and he will do whatever it takes to not be the bad man scorned. If the public ever finds out about his violent private life, his career will be ruined. This was a nail-biting, atmospheric thriller with sharp twists, and deeply disturbing plot. It was not an easy read due to the trauma, abuse, and manipulation that the main character Callie went through. However, the story was intertwined with a beautiful romance and hope which was very unique for this type of thriller. I enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster, dual timeline, and multiple POVs. All of the character felt authentic and added to the story. I found the ending very satisfying. Sí que cabe destacar que aparecen algunos personajes secundarios que llegan a ser muy importantes en la trama, no sobra ninguno de ellos, cumpliendo un papel primordial, casi tanto como los protagonistas. "The Summer House" by Keri Beevis Rating: 3 / 5 "The Summer House" by Keri Beevis promised to be a captivating page-turner, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. While the novel did have its moments, it ultimately failed to maintain a consistently engaging narrative. One of the notable issues in the book was the abundance of characters whom the author seemed to suggest might be potential villains. However, for the discerning reader, it was often apparent that these characters were not the culprits, which diminished the suspense and tension that could have otherwise been built.
