Meine Schwester hat mir "Crescent City" Band eins mit Farbschnitt geschenkt, weshalb ich auch direkt Band drei mit Farbschnitt holen musste, um später nicht das Problem zu haben, das Buch zu einem höheren Preis zu bekommen, wie es bei Band zwei der Fall ist. ❓ Wie ist es bei dir? Wenigstens hat sie das Buch nicht für immer im Regal versauern lassen. Wenigstens ist ihr auf den letzten Metern noch die lang erwartete Erleuchtung gekommen. Darf ich euch ein Geständnis machen? Ich traue Fantasybüchern nicht oft allzu viel zu. Seit meinem elfjährigem Ich ein Junge mit verwuschelten Haaren und runder Brille das Herz gestohlen hat, lese ich Fantasybücher weiterhin. Ich lese sie. Ich liebe sie auch, liebe es mich in diese erschaffenen Welten fallen zu lassen und dem Alltag zu entfliehen. Nur, kamen sie nie wirklich nahe an mich heran. Berührten mich nicht auf tieferen Ebenen. Es gab Ausnahmen, Autor:innen wie Susanna Clarke oder Walter Moers, die mir gezeigt haben, dass es auch anders geht und natürlich hat auch "Tintenherz" mein Herz erobert, vor kurzem sogar ein weiteres Mal. Aber es blieben Einzelfälle in diesem Genre. Aber vielleicht ist das auch gar nicht schlimm, denn all die genannten Bücher und Autor:innen waren vielleicht Ausnahmen, doch haben sie sich alle zweifellos in mein Herz geschrieben und ich gehe noch heute mit einem Lächeln an all ihren Büchern vorbei. Und seit heute, seit diesem wunderbaren sonnigen und sehr windigen Sonntag gehört auch Addie LaRue zu diesen wundervollen Ausnahmen. "Das unsichtbare Leben der Addie La Rue" ist Fantasy, irgendwie. Es spielt zwar nicht in erfundenen Welten, sondern in unserer aber wir treffen auf eine dreihundertjährige Frau, die vor unglaublich langer Zeit in ihrem kleinen französischen Heimatdorf einen Pakt mit der Dunkelheit geschlossen hat. Und seitdem fällt sie durch die Zeit, erlebte Revolutionen, Kriege und Umstürze. Sie entdeckte aber auch die unglaubliche Macht der Künste für sich. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Welches Buch wolltet ihr zuletzt nicht beenden weil es so schön war? • Zeilenflüstern von Kira Groh ist der Auftakt der neuen Reihe um die Sweet Lemon Agency und am liebsten hätte ich einfach immer weiterlesen wollen. Der Schreibstil konnte mich auch hier wieder von der ersten Seite an begeistern und ich mochte generell die Aufmachung des Buches wieder so gerne. Man bekommt mit der Kapitelüberschrift immer schon ein Schlagwort und damit eine kleine Sneakpeak auf das Geschehen im Kapitel. Die Charaktere haben mir auch von Anfang an richtig gut gefallen und da ich ja sowieso großer Fan von aufgeteilten Kapiteln für die Hauptprotagonisten bin, hat es mich aus beiden Erzählperspektiven direkt abholen können. Man bekommt tolle und weniger schöne Einblicke in die Gedanken und Gefühle von Klara und Noel und kann somit sie und ihr Handeln nachvollziehen. Die Themen fand ich auch sehr passend und man konnte sich doch in dem ein oder anderen Punkt wiederfinden. Ebenfalls erwähnt werden müssen die Nebencharaktere, die die ganze Geschichte noch etwas besonderer macht. Ich freue mich schon sehr in den Folgebänden mehr über sie zu erfahren. Gerade deshalb waren auch die Arbeitsszenen wunderbar zu lesen und man konnte sich als Teil der Sweet Lemon Agency fühlen. Ein toller Auftakt, der mich voller Vorfreude auf die weiteren Teile blicken lässt. They made me laugh out loud while also crying because of how protective they were of Serena. She deserved them in her corner and they did not disappoint! My only complaint about the book was it was unclear what truly happened to her former best friend. It kind of left off in a weird place and I felt like there wasn’t any clarity on that outcome, but honestly he can go kick rocks 🤷♀️ This book (and whole series honestly) deals with some pretty heavy topics, but in a real way which makes them un-put-downable! Things only got worse when she is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. While attending the same college, she can’t catch a break from their antics that end up ruining her love life. To top it all off, she’s struggling to control her diabetes. Ford steps in to help and agrees to take a step back from swerving guys looking her way and help her date. Ford has always seen Taytum. He knows her like the back of his hand. Can he take what he wants? No. She’s his best friend’s little sister. Does that stop him from helping her take back her independence with darting? Also no. She seems to be a hands on learner, so he finally takes the chance he’s wanted since he noticed how pretty she was. I teared up for Taytum. Some of the stunts Ford and her brother pulled were way out of line. I couldn’t imagine that being taken away from you. Or having to sneak around just to see someone I liked. But it made for a great plot and I loved the growth in Taytum. Ford was so super protective. He does some questionable things, but once he is given a switch kick in the britches, he gets his act together. I loved him for Taytum. His love for her was so dang sweet! The spice and angst in this book were pretty great. The build up was so worth it! And the banter was awesome! Love Hypothesis Review 🧬🧪🧫💕🤍🩷 • Y’all, when I say this book was EVERYTHING I needed in a book. It had a brilliant FMC, who was extremely relatable. I may not be a woman in STEM but, I could relate to Olive I love how brilliant she was and she just was trying to make it work like we all are and get her flowers. I did think she was a bit naive when it came to Adam and her not seeing how obvious it was how in love he was but I digress. I hate what she had to go through and being undervalued as a woman in academia but I loved how hard she worked to prove she deserved a spot in STEM even if it meant working from the bottom up. • ADAM ADAM ADAM. Vielen Dank für's gemeinsame Lesen @maikinderundbuecher • Der Schreibstil hat mir wieder richtig gut gefallen und die Seiten gingen so schnell vorbei. Harlow und Zack haben mir als Charaktere super gut gefallen und sie haben eine super Entwicklung durchgemacht. • Die Themen die behandelt wurden haben mir richtig gut gefallen und waren definitiv neu und anders. Ich fand es sehr spannend mehr über Gebärdensprache zu erfahren und fand es richtig gut umgesetzt. Ab und an habe ich ja meine Probleme mit etwas jüngeren Protagonisten, aber auch das Verhalten hat hier einfach perfekt gepasst und ich hab gar nicht groß über das Alter nachgedacht. • Ich bin ja großer Fan davon, wenn sich New Adult oder Romance mit Spannung zusammentut. 🖤 R E Z E N S I O N - Very Bad Revenge von J.S. Wonda🖤 Q: Welches Team seid ihr? Ich kann mich absolut null entscheiden, ich liebe sie einfach alle.🖤 Es ist ja nun der, sage und schreibe, 9. Band der Kingston-Reihe und mittlerweile geht es echt heiß her (ne ne, nicht so, wie ihr jetzt denkt).😉 Ich find's mega, wie krass Mable sich bis hierhin entwickelt hat. Ich weiß, es gibt super viele Meinungen zu ihr, aber ernsthaft, sie ist die Queen! Und das zeigt sie in diesem Teil so richtig. Ihr Charakter ist so stark geworden, nachdem was sie bisher durchgemacht hat. Klar, sie ist immer noch manchmal schwach und hilflos und lässt sich durch manche Manipulationen aus dem Konzept bringen, aber am Ende ist sie auch nur ein Mensch. Und hey, sie weiß was sie will und nichts und niemand bringt sie von ihrem Plan ab. Band 9 war für mich manchmal echt viel. Es passiert aber auch super viel. Ich möchte euch nicht spoilern, deswegen sage ich nichts über den Inhalt, aber ich hab mich sehr, sehr oft gefragt, wem man denn nun eigentlich vertrauen kann und vor allem war der Größte Gedanke immer wieder "Was zum Teufel geht hier gerade ab?!" Fazit: Very Bad Revenge hat mich sehr überrascht. Die Teile davor waren zwar auch sehr gut, aber hier war im von Beginn an im Sog der Story. Ich war so gefesselt, dass ich auch nicht lange gebraucht habe, bis ich es durch hatte. Es ist eines meiner liebsten Bücher dieser Reihe. 🦇👑Vampyria von Victor Dixen 👑🦇 Bewertung: 2,5/5 🌟 Victor Dixen entführt uns in Vampyria an den Hof der Finsternis zur Zeit des Absolutimus Frankreichs. Dabei begleiten wir eine junge Bürgerin, die die Ungerechtigkeit der Welt aufheben und sich nach Werten wie Freiheit, Gleichberechtigung und vor allem nach einem sehnt....RACHE. Mich hat selten ein Buch so sehr verwirrt wie dieses. Ich mochte die Brutalität des feudalistischen Frankreichs. Die Kuriositöt, den historischen Touch und auch einige Nebencharaktere haben mir gefallen. Die Grundidee einer Rebellin, die sich in die Adelskreise einschleicht und ein Attentat verüben möchte, ist zwar nichts Neues, kann mich normalerweise aber begeistern. Leider fand ich einige Dinge einfach gar nicht greifbar. Extrem traumatische Erlebnisse im Leben der Protagonistin haben mich kalt gelassen. Dadurch dass sie stets unnahbar bleibt, konnte ich 0 mitfühlen. Ich war zwar von mancher Brutlität gepackt und erschrocken, aber das Mitfühlen blieb komplett aus. Die Protagonistin ist so auf Rache fokussiert, dass sie selbst jegliches Gefühl für Empathie und Gesetze verliert. Sie setzt sich meiner Meinung nach nicht nur auf die selbe Stufe wie ihre Feinde, sondern ist eine extreme Heuchlerin, da sie schlicht genauso schlimme bzw noch schlimmere Taten begeht. Das Ende war für mich zudem extrem vorhersehbar. Máte chuť na nejaké neobyčajné čítanie? 🐾Archy je kuna, ktorá prišla na svet niekedy v zime. Otca mu zabili a matka zostala na neho a jeho súrodencov úplne sama. Archy ešte poriadne ani nevidel svet okolo ich nory a už je svedkom toho, čo znamená prežiť. V tejto knihe zvieratá rozprávajú a jedia z tanierov ako ľudia, ale naďalej zostávajú zvieratami ovplyvnenými inštinktom a základným pravidlom v celej prírode: silnejší vyhráva.🐾 Už pred čítaním som tušila, že toto nebude obyčajná kniha, čo je zrejme jasné, keďže hlavným hrdinom je zviera – kuna 😅. Napriek tomu som však očakávala skôr niečo jemnejšie (veď tá nádherná obálka je ako vystrihnutá z rozprávky 😍). Príbeh bol však všelijaký, len nie jemný... Musíte sa pripraviť na krutosti prírody, v ktorej prežijú len zdraví a silní jedinci a kde nevládne žiadne dobro a zlo ale hlad a silné inštinkty. Charakteristické pre celú knihu je prepájanie ľudského so zvieracím. Aj Archy bol taký - divoké zviera, ktoré však čítalo, pestovalo zeleninu a zamýšľalo sa nad otázkami bytia. Výrazne sa tu objavuje aj prvok Boha, aj keď v takom čudnom ponímaní. Mala som dojem, že autor chcel zvieratám ukázať typicky ľudskú črtu - vieru v niečo vyššie. Sústredíme sa na pochopenie jedinej pravdy – všetci raz zomrieme. S touto informáciou je Archy konfrontovaný ako zviera a svoju trpkú, pominuteľnú existenciu nevie dostatočne stráviť... Kniha sa čítala veľmi rýchlo a ľahko (aj keď niektoré scény som mala nepríjemnú hrču v hrdle alebo zvláštnu ťažobu). Vôbec som však necítila, že ide o debut. Text bol prepletený peknými prirovnaniami. Dialógy aj opisy boli nesmierne autentické a živé. Mnohé myšlienky zaujímavé. Celý čas som však čakala, že prídeme do bodu, ktorý by mi odhalil viac z toho, čo týmto príbehom chcel autor povedať. Veľmi by som to chcela vedieť 😀. Každopádne, z príbehu som si vzala to svoje a som rada, že som mala možnosť si túto zvláštnosť prečítať. Ak máte radi surové príbehy, ktoré vedia prekvapiť; ak máte chuť na niečo iné a neobyčajné; ak túžite pohľadať v myšlienkach hĺbku, určite skúste Moje šialené nápady. Bude to divoký zážitok 😉. 🍂 NEW REVIEW 🍂 I don't think that any person who read this book failed to identify with it; it was damn relatable from the start. It voiced a lot of my thoughts. This book is indeed a helpful guide that will be your beacon of light when you feel lost and dejected. I totally agree with the author that our childhood makes or breaks us. Most of the time, we cannot undo the effect our childhood had on us, but it can be achieved if we are willing enough. I used to think that we had to adjust too much in order to live a peaceful life, but the author's affirmation that we could be the writers of our own lives really instilled new confidence in me. One thing the author said with which I couldn't agree enough was the importance of financial independence. seriously it feels so good when you earn for yourself and when you don't have to answer to people about where you spent the money. It gives you a feeling beyond this world, atleast I feel this way. The author wants us to feel complete within ourselves and drop the baggage that slows us in our life's beautiful journey. This is a book that has so much wisdom to impart; you can read it again and again, and every time you do, you'll realise something new and meaningful. My favourite chapters were "Build Close Relationships" and "On the Receiving End of Anger." Manchmal überkommt es mich, ich scrolle durch die Bibliothek und leihe spontan mir (bis dato) unbekannte Autoren aus. Nicht nur mache ich auf diese Weise den einen oder anderen Glücksgriff, sondern es schmerzt auch nicht so, wenn es doch eher der berühmte „Griff daneben“ war. In diesem Fall hatte ich Lust auf etwas Leichtes, wenn aber auch nicht zu Seichtes. Da bieten sich ganz gut historische Krimis mit englischen Aristokraten an. Die leben in ihrem Wohlstands-Kosmos und jagen nebenbei einen Mörder. Also herrlich unrealistisch und daher genau das Richtige für mich von Zeit zu Zeit. Dianne Freeman kannte ich überhaupt nicht und landete beim dritten Teil, wie ich dann beim Lesen feststellen musste. Wer also die ersten beide Bände gerade vor sich liegen oder auf dem Sub liegen hat: Ich versuche, nicht zu spoilern, kann es jedoch nicht ganz versprechen. Die Protagonistin, Frances, Countess of Harleigh, bereits verwitwet und Tochter einer achtjährigen Tochter, fährt mit der gesamten Bagage (Verwandtschaft in dem Fall) auf’s Land, um eine Hochzeit zu feiern. Und wie es auf Familienfesten halt so ist, gibt es einen Mord, den es aufzuklären gilt. Wer kennt es nicht. Ihr seht, die Handlung ist nicht überaus komplex, aber, und da war ich erstaunt, auch nicht plump. Der Einstieg war etwas zäh. Ich war natürlich wieder mit den ganzen Namen überfordert („War das jetzt die Tante?, „Wer oder Was ist Fiona?“) und musste mich in die Handlung reinpfriemeln, doch irgendwann war ich drin. An der Stelle fehlte mir ein wenig das Vorwissen aus den anderen beiden Büchern, doch wirklich stören tat es mich nicht. Ich mochte das Setting auf dem Landsitz und die Charaktere. Klar, Clichés gab es einige, mitunter ergaben die sich jedoch auch einfach aufgrund der damaligen Zeit. Erfrischend waren der Starrsinn manch eines Protagonisten und das heimliche Ausbrechen aus den gesellschaftlichen Konventionen. Und mir wird immer wieder klar: An mir wären die Anstandsdamen damals wahrscheinlich verzweifelt… Der Krimi war nicht zu kurz oder zu lang mit den knapp 350 Seiten, sondern genau richtig. Die nächsten Teile sind jedenfalls schon vorgemerkt.😊 (unbezahlte Werbung)

🩷💻Lakestone Campus of Seattle💻🩷 5🌟 HIGHLIGHT Lakestone Campus of Seattle - What we fear war das erste Buch von @alexandra_nordwest , das ich gelesen habe und es konnte mich absolut überzeugen. Die Ausgangslage einer Hackerin, die mit einem Bein im Gefängnis steht und durch die Universität LSC einen Ausweg geboten bekommt, konnte mich direkt begeistern. Eine Frau, die für Technik brennt und sich in einer Männer dominierten Welt nicht unterbringen lässt, gleichzeitig aber auch der "Kriminelle-Aspekt" haben direkt mein Interesse geweckt. Zack ist ein unglaublich charismatischer Mann und hallo?! Wer von uns möchte keinen Literatur-Nerd als Freund? Dass er stumm ist, wurde meiner Meinung nach total sensibel und schön umgesetzt. Wir begleiten ihn in seinem Alltag und Hürden werden zwar aufgezeigt, aber durch Lösungswege gezeigt, wie man als Aussenstehender damit umgehen sollte/kann. Wie seine Art des Kommunizierens in den Text eingebunden war, fand ich sehr natürlich. Den Dialogen ging dadurch keinesfalls was verloren: die Gespräche zwischen Harlow und Zack sowie generell die Atmosphäre zwischen den Beiden waren so erfrischend und authentisch. Gleichzeitig konnte ich Harlows Probleme nachvollziehen. Ihre Situation ist extrem schwierig und ich konnte mich mit ihrer Denkweise identifizieren. "Das Drama" war meiner Meinung nach also nicht zu viel und nicht zu wenig. Durch die Hacker Thematik blieb es dauerhaft spannend und der Leerlauf, der mich im Drama zwischen den Protagonisten oft abschreckt, war nicht vorhanden. Neben tollen Nebencharakteren, einem überzeugenden Uni-Setting und einem tollen Schreibstil (für Zitate gerne Swipen) konnten mich die vielen tieferen Messages überzeugen. Diese wirkten nicht zwanghaft untergebracht, sondern wurden natürlich eingeflochten. Ich war schnell in der Geschichte drin, den Anfang fand ich aber seltsam. Wer zieht zu jemanden, den man nicht kennt und wer lässt einen unbekannten Menschen bei sich wohnen? Das fand ich irgendwie strange, aber ohne diesen Fakt hätte es die Geschichte nicht gegeben 😅 • Die Charaktere fand ich von Anfang an spannend und man konnte sich mit ihnen identifizieren, nachdem man nach und nach mehr von ihnen erfahren hat.
