Turkey Tuesday (unintended 😆)!💥 MASALA TURKEY LIVER and GARLIC CAULIFLOWER MASH💥. So, I opened the container, started laying out the livers to prep them, and called out to the husband "You have to see the size of these things!  Those chickens must've been HUGE!!"🤣 Turns out, I had grabbed turkey livers instead of chicken livers... good thing, because I was picturing chickens jacked up on steroids when I saw that the livers were the size of my hand and I just really couldn't put that in my body.🤣 SWIPE to see how the container did saw turkey... Itty bitty print style. 😆 Not complaining! These were simply sauteed with beech mushrooms, onions, and chilis.  Then, simmered in a sauce of garam masala, ginger, garlic, turmeric, and coconut milk.😍 Is offal too awful for you?😜  You probably just haven't had it cooked correctly (ie: livers should be tender and melty... not dry, hard to chew, and unable to swallow like grandma made 😁). ⭐️ Have a 'heart'... Sesame-Ginger Chicken Salad Ingredients: For the Dressing: 1/3 cup coconut aminos 1/4 cup red wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar) 3 tablespoons avocado oil 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil 2 tablespoons minced ginger 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper For the Salad: 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs 4 diced green onions (can sub for 1/2 red onion finely diced) 1/2 large green cabbage, thinly sliced 1/2 red cabbage, thinly sliced 2 cups shredded or matchstick carrots 1 cup sliced almonds 1 can Mandarin oranges (no sugar/syrup – check labels!) 1/2 cup chopped and loosely packed cilantro 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds Directions: Combine all the ingredients for the dressing in a bowl. In a plastic baggie, add about 3-4 tablespoons of dressing with the chicken and allow to marinate for at least a half hour. Cook the marinated chicken in a large skillet over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until thoroughly cooked. Alternatively, grill the chicken. I’m sure you have heard it skipping breakfast is the worst thing you can do to your body. especially if you’re looking to see a change in your body such as weight loss and muscle growth, let me explain why! And before you come at me saying that you’re just not hungry in the morning I bet it’s because one of the reasons I’m gonna explain! Why is having a high protein filling breakfast? So important to achieving results? well, when it comes to our body, I didn’t know if you know this, but it needs food to function properly. Your body needs nutrition to be able to burn fat and see muscle growth. Your body needs nutrition to be able to function throughout the day. So when we wake up in the morning and we don’t nourish our body, our bodies going to look for fuel somewhere else and it’s going to get nervous that it’s going to be starved so it’s going to go into starvation mode. where whatever you put into it later on throughout the day it’s going to hold as body fat because it’s afraid that you’re not going to nourish it!🤔 When one skips breakfast I bet you typically see that you’re starving towards 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM and you’re looking for easy grab and go snacks probably something that is filled with refined sugar and simple carbs because your body knows it can pull energy from that. You’re most likely eating later in the evening because your body is hungry it’s been moving all day and it didn’t get that nourishing breakfast it needed. All these things tend to be filled with higher calorie foods that are not full of dense nutrition, and worst of all we’re most likely going to overconsume on these items later in the day, because we are so hungry, which can lead to weight gain and decreasing muscle mass. Now here’s the other ringer because you’re eating these foods later in the evening because your body is starving. It doesn’t have the proper time to digest overnight because your insulin is high because of the foods that you were consuming so you’re not going to be waking up hungry so you’re in this harsh cycle unfortunately. Paleo Baked Eggs in Avocado Ingredients: 2 ripe avocados 4 eggs Salt and pepper, to taste Optional toppings: chopped fresh herbs (such as chives, parsley, or cilantro), diced tomatoes, cooked bacon or sausage, hot sauce, etc. Instructions: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and remove the pits. If needed, you can slice a small piece off the bottom of each avocado half to create a flat surface for them to sit on. Place the avocado halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet. If the halves are a bit wobbly, you can gently scoop out a small amount of avocado to create a more stable base. Crack one egg into each avocado half, being careful not to break the yolk. If the avocado halves are small, you may need to scoop out a bit of the flesh to make room for the egg. Season the eggs with salt and pepper, to taste. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set but the yolks are still slightly runny. If you prefer firmer yolks, bake for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove the baked eggs in avocado from the oven and let them cool for a minute or two before serving. It's full of flavor and super easy to make!⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS⁣ For the dressing:⁣ 1/4 cup olive oil⁣ 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar⁣ 1 tbsp dijon mustard⁣ 1/4 tsp sea salt⁣ 1/4 tsp ground pepper⁣ ⁣ For the salad:⁣ 4 Boneless skinless chicken breasts⁣ 1 tbsp avocado oil⁣ 4 cups spinach⁣ 4 cups arugula⁣ 12 strawberries, sliced, (about 1/2 lb)⁣ 1/2 red onion, sliced thinly⁣ 2 avocados, sliced⁣ 1/4 cup sliced almonds⁣ 1/2 cup feta cheese, (optional – omit for Whole30)⁣ salt and pepper⁣ ⁣ INSTRUCTIONS⁣ 1. Preheat oven to 450° Fahrenheit and lightly grease a baking pan with avocado oil.⁣ 2. Season chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Place chicken on the baking pan. Sesame-Ginger Chicken Salad Ingredients: For the Dressing: 1/3 cup coconut aminos 1/4 cup red wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar) 3 tablespoons avocado oil 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil 2 tablespoons minced ginger 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper For the Salad: 1 and 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs 4 diced green onions (can sub for 1/2 red onion finely diced) 1/2 large green cabbage, thinly sliced 1/2 red cabbage, thinly sliced 2 cups shredded or matchstick carrots 1 cup sliced almonds 1 can Mandarin oranges (no sugar/syrup – check labels!) 1/2 cup chopped and loosely packed cilantro 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds Directions: Combine all the ingredients for the dressing in a bowl. In a plastic baggie, add about 3-4 tablespoons of dressing with the chicken and allow to marinate for at least a half hour. Cook the marinated chicken in a large skillet over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until thoroughly cooked. Alternatively, grill the chicken. Allow the chicken to cool to room temperature before chopping and adding to the salad. Combine all other salad ingredients in a large bowl. Add the cooled chicken to the salad and stir in the dressing well. Enjoy! This Quick "Spaghetti" Bolognese is so easy to make and absolutely delicious! All you need is a handful of wholesome ingredients like spaghetti squash, ground beef, tomato passata & garlic. 🥩🧄🍅🌱 It's a hearty & quick week night or weekend meal. Gluten & grain free + low-carb. ✅ 👉🏻INGREDIENTS 1 lb grass-fed ground beef 1 spaghetti squash 1.5 cup tomato passata 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1/2 tsp. dried basil, or 2-3 fresh basil leaves 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil Sea salt & black pepper , to taste 👉🏻INSTRUCTIONS Spaghetti Squash: Cut spaghetti squash lengthwise and remove seeds with spoon. Bake at 400 for 30-40 min (first 10-min bake with flesh down, then turn so skin is down for remaining time). Fork should pierce skin easily when squash is cooked. Use a fork to scrape out the strands of squash. Quick Bolognese Sauce: In a sauce pan, briefly sauté garlic and dried basil in olive oil over medium heat. If you are using fresh basil, add basil leaves in after step 2. Add tomatoes and bring to a light boil for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste. Bring to medium-low heat and let simmer for 20-minutes. In a separate pan, cook ground beef over medium heat until lightly browned. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add tomato sauce into pan with beef and let ingredients cook together over medium-low heat for a few minutes. Perfect blend of juicy steak & crisp veggies! 🥩🌿 Recipe Ingredients: 8 thinly sliced pieces of sirloin steak (about 1/8 inch thick) Extra-virgin olive oil Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper Some chopped fresh rosemary 1 small yellow onion, sliced into thin strips 1 small red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips 1 small green bell pepper, sliced into thin strips 1 small zucchini, sliced into thin strips A handful of fresh mushrooms, sliced into thin strips For the Rosemary Balsamic Glaze: 1/4 cup dark balsamic vinegar 2 tablespoons red wine 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar (paleo: use coconut sugar) 1 clove garlic, minced 2 sprigs fresh rosemary ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper ¼ teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in ¼ cup beef or chicken broth Directions: Prepare the rosemary balsamic glaze by placing all ingredients in a small pot and bringing it to a boil over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
