Trying to get caught up on everything since my hub’s health crisis has been a challenge. You never realize the impact that something like this has on you, not just emotionally but in literally every aspect of your life. So, now I practice a lot of gratitude. I will never take anything in my life for granted again because in the blink of an eye, everything can change. I remember thinking over the summer that I would never feel joy or happiness again. Told by Abby who has a close-knit group of friends, the jackrabbits, that live in the town of Doubtful, where people go missing at an alarming rate, only to be found later, dismembered and sewn back together with read thread. This is the work of the stitcher. When Abby’s sister goes missing, the jackrabbits have to pull together to save her before the stitcher tears her apart! Chilling, creepy and intense! I was stunned to get an ARC of Bring Me Your Midnight by @timesnewrachel (through @netgalley) - and just as I expected, her amazing talent shines though again 💙 I loved both Wild Is The Witch and (especially!) A Nature of Witches- yet this book has my favourite heroine of the three, the most enchanting atmosphere and (dare I say it?) the best romance 💙 in my humble opinion, of course! What happens after midnight - arc 💗 When I received this arc I was soooo excited! I’d read The summer of broken rules last year and absolutely loved it, so I knew this latest stand alone would be one I’d enjoy. While YA isn’t always my first pick in genre, Walther does it so so well and if she writes it I will read it!! This story follows Lily & Tag, childhood friends to lovers to strangers. Second chance romance is one of my all times, and the pining in this one is off the charts. You can’t help but root for them both to make it through the trials and tribulations of young love. Not only does this book tell a wonderful story of romance, but one hell of an adventure too. Set on the grounds of a boarding school, what happens after midnight is extremely entertaining. Oh and of course, my favourite thing about Walther’s stories is picking up on Taylor Swift Easter eggs (I counted 48 but am sure I missed a few!) Overall, I absolutely recommend this one and eagerly await her next 🫶🏻🫶🏻 What happens after midnight is available for purchase on June 27th! I bought this book on a trip to the @elliottbaybookco and I knew from first glance that I would love it and it did not disappoint! @timesnewrachel is such a talented storyteller and I cannot wait to read more from her! The magic and connection to nature, the relationships, the plot, the animals and environment (I always love reading books that take place in my neck of the woods). Iris lives at a wildlife refuge on the Washington Peninsula, hiding her magic from Pike Alder, an intern who happens to despise witchcraft and magic. When a curse goes awry and an endangered owl disappears, Iris and Pike head into the forest to try to set things right, though Pike doesn’t know the whole story. Iris packs a pile of Kind bars and some homemade granola for their trip into the woods. I love making granola, adding lots of seeds and just a bit of maple syrup. Store bought granola is often loaded with sugars, and I buy the ingredients in bulk, so making my own is better for the environment and my body! Rose Calloway (Calloway Sisters): la chiamano la Ice Queen, ma per chi ha letto la saga sa quanto invece sia buona e sempre disponibile per le sue sorelle. 💌 2. Garrison Abbey (Bad Reputation Duet): lui è un'anima incompresa, fa del male agli altri prima che gli altri possano farne a lui, porta avanti la sua cattiva reputazione di proposito solo per proteggersi da coloro che dovrebbero volergli bene di più. ❤️🩹 3. Jude Duarte (Folk of The Air): un'umana in mondo di fae, Jude lotta con le unghie e con i denti per riuscire a integrarsi anche se la società dei fae non la vede di buon occhio. C U R R E N T L Y 📖 R E A D I N G I have fully dove into my Christmas tbr and it’s been such a cozy place to be! The Christmas Clash has all the makings of a fun holiday read! The characters are so likeable, there’s humour, adorable romance in a enemies-to-sweethearts kind of way and scheming which I always enjoy. I’ve been cozied up in my @indigo winter pjs these days and with my mug given by a very sweet student a couple of years ago, that’s sentimental to me, which has my once-a-day cup of coffee that’s keeping me warm. ❤️

But today I’m here with another spooky rec (I have quite a few lined up so be prepared 😂). I read this one last fall and gave it 5 stars, it’s perfect for this time of year! I’m leaving my full review below for you all to check out BUT @sourcebooksfire announced literally today the details of @natdrichards newest book coming out and I am PUMPED 🤩 — “One caused the fall. One did nothing. One saw it all. One didn't care. One used their head. One played the hero. One was left for dead." Seven teens walked into a camping trip but only six walked out. Cleo's bovfriend Declan was left for dead and now someone knows what she did. She must solve a scavenger hunt before time is out or risk someone possibly ruining her future. I freaking enjoyed this book so much! This is definitely binge worthy and I could have completely read it in one day if wasn't reading two books at once time! This felt like I know what you did last summer but with a twisty scavenger hunt on top of it all! Honestly the twist HAD me. There was a moment where I thought it could be who it was but then brushed it off and said "nah", it wouldn't have made sense to me. Seven Dirty Secrets was full of twists and turns, riddles and slasher movie vibes and I just seriously couldn't put it down! I instantly wanted to read this book since a Cavalier King Charles was on the front. 🐶 I was cracking up 😂 the whole time because Ursula, the dog in this book, reminds me EXACTLY of Prince! I can tell Wilson owns a Cavalier because they are super "needy" dogs. 📝: Half of Molly's heart and soul lies with the aquarium in her small-town beach community. The other half is with her King Charles Cavalier. Max is new to town as the aquarium's director. He's feeling the pressure of financial issues, and cuts Molly's job due to budget cuts. QOTD: Do you prefer to read a stand alone, duology, or trilogy? I AM FINALLY STARTING THIS ARC!!! I’ve been fighting off the temptation to spoil the ending for myself and I managed to hold off but soon enough I’ll find out if this is the end of Jacks and Evangeline or if we will be getting more!! My answer to the QOTD: I’m usually a stand-alone fan unless it comes to SFF or Mystery books then I’m all for trilogies. Often when a series goes over three books, I don’t pick it up at all. The amount of commitment it takes is not something that I have in me.

Wild is the Witch by Rachel Griffin • Firstly, I'd like to thank Sourcebooks Fire for sending me this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review! This book was SO good and, honestly, very relaxing to read. I'd like to say it's the white noise machine of books. Filled with nature, magic, romance, and animals, this novel is pure enjoyment. The story tells of Iris Gray, a Lunar witch working at her mother's animal refuge in the mountains of Washington. When Iris accidentally attaches a curse meant for an aggravating colleague, named Pike, to an owl, the two enemies must work together to hike through the wilderness and find it. However, unbeknownst to Pike, (a witch-hating, bird- loving know-it-all) the owl is a powerful spell amplifier and if it dies then the curse it's holding within will unleash and destroy everything in its path. This novel was such a breath of fresh air that really put my mind at ease in a way. It was so easygoing and kept a really good pace. The picturesque imagery of a foggy, rainy forest in the mountains of Washington made the perfect backdrop to a magical story. While the romance is quite predictable, I quite enjoyed envisioning it unfold and it puts a different spin on witches that we don't see often in pop culture. It almost has a wicca vibe to it. It's truly a refreshing, calming, entertaining, and beautiful novel. 💌📖A pale view of hills check-in I'm slightly over halfway done with this book and I am simply blown away by the beautiful writing style of Kazuo Ishiguro. The author paints the most captivating images with his words that are so vivid and passionate in a way. I like to describe this book so far as a Wes Anderson film? I'm not entirely sure if that makes sense to those reading this caption but the softness and emptiness Kazuo Ishiguro show through writing is beyond stunning. It's like reading an indie film. The centred shots and strange main characters are oddly relatable. This book is quite the hard read though, for a book as skinny as the width of my finger it takes a while for me to swallow each sentence after reading. I like to sit and stare into the abyss after every couple of sentences, for some reason with this reading technique I can really see it all happening before me. I know exactly what every character looks like and what emotion they feel during each chapter. I hope to keep this book close in my heart for a long time, for it has changed me. But, to only be halfway through a book and have such strong emotions is strange. If you heard me say; “I’m not going to buy anymore books until I have more bookcase space”, no you didn’t 😇 So on my way out of work, I somehow stumbled into the Romance section. Did I need to? No, but I’d been handling some stock in the Romance section earlier in the day and had mentally tabbed some books that I’d seen. I was already buying something so what’s the harm in looking? Much harm, that’s the answer. I picked up two books (tame, I know). The first of which was The Dare by Elle Kennedy - I’ve read this book probably 10 times, because (pre-hating game) it was my comfort book. So I really wanted to grab the physical copy at some point so I could tab my favourite bits (practically the whole book). Someone must’ve been listening to me, because Indigo received a single copy, so I took my chance. I liked a lot of things about this book but the pacing and atmosphere are perfection! I read this in one sitting and the twists are perfectly twisty and the villains not who you’d think. I love when an author can take an inanimate object like a house and turn it into a character that is able to evoke a certain amount of emotions from both the characters and myself! 🧛🏻🐺Twilight Eclipse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Yesterday I had finished the third book in the Twilight Saga and I truly adored this book. I’m sure a lot of you may already know what this novel is about due to its popularity but for those of you who don’t, here’s a quick spoiler-free recap. In my world, I like to call the first twilight book “Edward’s Book” and New Moon, the second in the series “Jacob’s Book” as each of the books has a heavy focus on one of the boys. But in the third book Eclipse, I was delighted to see a generous mix of both, there was lots of interaction with all the characters together in one setting. In this novel, Bella and Edward are graduating high school and making BIG plans(IFYKYK). Bella and Edward take a trip to Flordia to visit Bella’s mom Renne, when they return home all hell breaks loose. Victoria is back along with new characters who are bad news! There is action, romance, angst and a whole lot more in this book. I was frankly surprised to see so many low reviews for this book on GoodReads, but I guess we’re all human with our own opinions right? So far, I think this is my favourite book of the series, I just loved seeing Jacob and Edward interacting through the book unlike they did in the first two. The interactions here were a lot different. I also loved reading a lot of scenes with Alice. I love the connection between Alice and Bella, I think Alice is just what Bella needs in her life. An ACTUAL female friend. 📚Welcome to my bookcase This lovely book collection didn't happen overnight, over the past few years I have found the most comfort in collecting and reading books. It seems as if I have found a safe haven, something that is JUST for me. Although we all have the same knowledge of a certain book, I truly believe that we all have diverse lives within these books. We all experience the characters and setting in various ways, I think that's such a beautiful thing. I think I've always been addicted to escapism, whether it's reading fiction books or making up short stories. These false realities are such a secure place for me. Somewhere I can go when I've had enough of our current reality. Similar to people who use music as an escape, when I dig my nose into a good book I really am in that world looking over the characters and watching their actions and my IRL worries are nowhere to be found. On Friday, I reached a goal of 400 followers. I'm so glad I have got to make so many friends and make so many memories. Not to mention my now infinite TBR thanks to all the awesome recommendations. 💐Trickster Feminism review One of my goals in 2022 was to read more poetry books. I have always found poetry to be quite beautiful. I love the simplicity of some poems and how others can go on forever yet never tire me. Trickster Feminisim is a collection of peoms supposedly all about feminism and activisum. Throughout the entirety of this book I found myself completely lost, the words did not make sense to me. I understand that poetry affects different people in different ways but I just did not feel a connection with any of these poems. They all felt like i was reading another language, this book felt like i was reading something that was very poorly translated making the words not work together. One thing I did love about this book is the starting and end pieces. The first poem in the book is called Trick O Death, which is about someone looking over their dead friend's casket. The second last poem in the book was called Trick O Life, I thought this was a very interesting tie. Although I did not feel the relation between the two, perhaps the similar names were a coincidence. I will definitely be giving poetry another go this year and I will not let this book take me down. I gave this book a three star, but looking back on it i will be demoting this book to a two star review.
