From never running, to picking it up at the age of 25 and it changing my life. It’s much more than a sport to me. Todays Breakfast ➡️➡️ Had my breakfast at 0930am this morning while watching teletubbies with the baba after tidying and cleaning the house, feeding and getting the baby ready and then a quick shower and sorted for the day 🥞 390 calories of absolute yummy scrumminess 😋 1x Mini Wrap 15g of Smooth Peanut Butter 🥜 20g of Fruit and Nut Mix 🍇 1x Small Banana 🍌 100mls Skimmed Milk and 1tsp sugar for a cuppa ☕️ I find it really hard to “keep on track” just now. My wedding is two weeks away and I told myself I’d be a UK Size 8, then I found out I was pregnant and shifting the weight has been impossible so I will be getting married in my size 16 dress and you know what I just don’t care!! I absolutely love that I got pregnant and have my body to show it but after suffering from binge eating for 15 years, it’s time to break the cycle! After having the baby and a fiancé that works offshore, I’ve slid into old habits of sometimes not eating for days at a time and then binging because “I don’t have time” but I’m making healthy habits to show my baby how to eat safely and balanced to make sure she doesn’t copy my unhealthy habits. Nutracheck and perimenopause check in, week 2! . I fully appreciate that calorie counting isn’t for everyone, but for me going though the #perimenopause means I need to keep a close eye on what I’m doing as my body doesn’t respond to basic food and exercise the way it used to. . For many, the first symptoms aren’t either hot flushes, change in period or weight gain. Often it presents itself as anxiety, rage, loss of joy, mood swings and exhaustion (the list is endless)! It looks different for everyone as does weight gain. For me I was just gradually holding more around the tummy area. I eat healthy most of the time and I exercise, but doing the #hiitworkouts I had successfully done for years weren’t working for me anymore. At all! . I had to change what I was doing and focus more on increasing my steps, slow and controlled weight training and ditching the hiit! Also ensuring I was eating the right food, predominantly more fibre and more protein! This is because during perimenopause we lose muscle mass and we need higher levels of protein to help with that and to keep our metabolism going. Nutracheck also helps me keep my portions in check as well as knowing exactly how much #protein I’m getting per day. . We are all experiencing different symptoms at different times, there’s no “right age” for this. Hormones will do what they will 10-15 years before menopause hits, but we can help them and take back control. Don’t give up, keep searching for answers and try new things. Give yourself grace, it’s a lot for your body and mind to go through. Track what you do and if you go to a doctor stand up for what you believe is happening to you. . So for me #nutracheck is working. It’s helping me do what I need to do to keep control of my hormones and of my body. A positive second week of stats and for me that’s the #motivation I need to keep pushing through. . There is light at the end of the tunnel ladies, you just need to keep experimenting to find it. 🥧 Steak Pie Sunday ☺️ We went to the pub yesterday for hubby’s birthday lunch for the main purpose that he really fancied a pie. Much to his dismay when he asked what the pie of the day was, he was told “we don’t have any”. 🤷🏽‍♀️ obviously the wife had to rectify that today! Enter my skinny steak pie…. ✨Another yummy day of food 🤤 Honestly that overnight weetabix is delicious and massive so if you try it let me know, you’ve probably already knew about it ages ago 🤣 ✨Lunch was a pre-made sweet chilli noodle salad from @asda honestly there salad bowls are lovely. ⛽️ Double Granola Breakfast Bowl 🥣 Thanks to @lornamck13 I finally picked up this @granolabutterco granola butter from @hollandandbarrett (currently on the 3 for 2 mix and match deal throughout the store). Had to crack it open for my post gym breakfast this morning! It needs a really good stir before eating- make sure the jar is slightly warm rather than as cold from the shop. But wow- it’s so yum! Slightly sweet, slightly coconutty, slightly cinnamonny, and VERY moorish!! Brunch Hash 🥓 Been a while since I’ve posted a food pic 🫣 but this was delicious, high protein and will keep us full till dinner 😮‍💨 - 2 potatoes diced and into a oven tray with 15ml oil seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic & paprika. Cook on 180° for 15 mins. - I brought a pack of @marksandspencerfood dinky chicken sausages and then wrapped them in bacon. Once the 15mins is up add in the sausages and cook for another 20 mins giving it a good mix half way. - In a pan add in a diced onion and mushrooms, season with salt, pepper, garlic granules and paprika and fry off. Monthly Checkin Although I've maintained every week for the month I'm actually a pound down overall. Really pleased with this as I had maintained for the last two months. Now I'm away at the end of May to Lanzorate so definitely won't be weighing in over there!!! Definitely trying to be kinder to myself during this phase of my life.
