Looking for perfect meatballs? Try out this AMAZING recipe. It goes great with spaghetti squash! Italian Meatballs Makes 3 Servings Per serving 1 Leans 1 Greens 2 1/3 Condiments Ingredients: • 21 oz 93% reduced fat ground beef – should yield 3 – 5 oz portions cooked • 2 tbsp Parmesan • 1 tsp basil leaves • 1/4 cup egg beaters • 1 tbsp parsley flakes • 1/4 tsp garlic powder • 1/4 tsp pepper • 1/4 tsp fennel • 1 1/2 cups Italian diced tomatoes Directions: Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients except the diced tomatoes in a bowl until combined. Form balls from the meat. Bake 20 minutes or until done. Measure out 5 oz of cooked meatballs and add 1/2 cup of Italian diced tomatoes in a small saucepan over medium heat until heated thoroughly. I like to use a fork and smash the diced tomatoes so it resembles a chunky marinara sauce. Serve w/1 cup spaghetti squash (2 Greens) or make a meatball sandwich w/revolution rolls (1/3 Lean and 1.33 Condiments)! So happy I got to spend time with this amazing lady and mentor on our cruise! Even though I had done self help courses and many, many things to try to change my attitude nothing helped more than when I made the ultimate decision to respect myself. . It took one day at a time. It took going to sleep earlier... Eating more healthy foods and more often... Communicating with people who did care... ...and... Putting myself before others. . You can't give to another if you don't even give to yourself. You may think so but that's how you become a victim of your own choices, feel run-down and taken advantage of. . Slowly I started to see things through a different perspective, realized that my thoughts+opinions matter to me and stood up for myself. Wow, suddenly things started to click better. . It doesn't always click and sometimes I fall back into the hole, but when that happens I don't dig deeper. . So...if you find things aren't working for you maybe take a long, truthful look at yourself and ask if you really respect yourself. True story: I used to walk on the gym and want to work out without having to talk to anyone. I didn’t want to have to find someone or pay someone to tell me how to use the equipment the right way or lift weights properly. I just wanted to go do my thing! 💖 Can we please stop gaslighting people leading a healthy lifestyle in this unhealthy world we live in? 💖 I CHOOSE this. NO ONE is holding a gun to my head. I don’t need your sad eyes as I eat protein with salad while you eat your calorific lunch and then complain you can’t understand why you struggle with excess weight and feel bloated all the time. Yes, I probably will gain a couple of kgs again once I’ve got to where I want to be, because small weight fluctuations through the year and for different reasons are NORMAL. Yeah, I’ve had problems with my relationship with food and huge weight fluctuations in the past, but I’ve been working hard on that over the past few years and now feel ready to tackle my transformation and reinvention with a healthy, balanced mindset. If tracking my food intake and taking my measurements to keep myself ACCOUNTABLE makes YOU uncomfortable, that’s on you, not me. It’s sad that people talk less about you if you stay a little bit overweight and eat the junk food and drink the alcohol/take the drugs and stay up all night like they do. September 2023 -—> April 2024 Postpartum Transformation 💫 - This amazing momma committed 110% to her goals and crushed all of them! After she delivered her first child we stayed at maintenance for a while, then reversed her calories to build muscle, balance hormones and work towards a competition that had some heavy lifting. 💖 Did you know? 💖 There is still no consensus opinion on what exactly causes fluid retention at different times of our menstrual cycle. A study published in 2011* monitored the menstrual symptoms of 62 healthy, normal BMI, non-smoking women over a 12 month period, comparing regular exercisers (runners) to non-exercisers and found that: 💖 Fluid retention +/- “bloating” symptoms were reported to peak on the first day of the period (bleeding/flow), then ease; and 💖 Regular exercisers experienced WORSE fluid retention than sedentary women; this is thought to be due to higher levels of oxytocin (feel good hormone) and vasopressin (fluid retention hormone) following strenuous exercise. Tiny micro-tears in the muscle also trigger an inflammatory response, which includes tissue oedema (fluid/swelling). The most important thing to know is that fluid shifts over the course of our cycle are NORMAL. It is NOT a “hormone imbalance”and does NOT require special supplements to “fix” it, despite what lots of Insta influencers would have you believe 🤦🏼‍♀️. Supplements that *may* actually help with menstrual cycle symptoms include chaste tree, calcium, magnesium and evening primrose oil. If you feel like your menstrual cycle mood and physical symptoms are truly difficult to live with (and perhaps may be suffering from a disorder such as PCOS or PMDD), please speak to someone who actually went to the School of the Human Body (i.e. a doctor).
