My thoughts: You know, its rare to find a sequel that is just as good (if not) better than the original. Janz managed to do just that with The Night Flyers. This book combines so many different elements. Its small town, coming of age, fantasy, gore and family. It gives Stranger Things vibes. Janz has a way of writing with such authenticity. He nails the teenage “voice” so well and all of the fun little added elements of baseball, nostalgia and horror movies shine. I like that the story picks right up where we left off, and yet we still get some background. The action is none stop and I felt my heartbeat pick up several times, especially at the end. Nie udało mi się co prawda przeczytać aż tak wielu książek, jak czasami mi się zdarzało, bo tylko sześć, ale zupełnie mi to nie przeszkadza, bo zamiast tego czytałam właściwie same przyjemne książki, a na tym zdecydowanie bardziej mi zależy. W końcu nie liczy się ilość, a czytanie powieści, które sprawią nam największą przyjemność 🤍 To był też naprawdę udany miesiąc osobiście, bo miałam największą przyjemność wspierać medialnie aż trzy kwietniowe premiery: "Twój na zawsze" Abby Jimenez, "Keeping 13. Nie była to jakaś wyjątkowa książka a wszystko można było przewidzieć już na początku. Jednak zdecydowanie nie przyczepia jej to łatki "złej książki" Mimo iż mamy tu taki typowy schemat - korepetytorem Arizony zostaje Devon, mamy relację enemies to lovers, udawany związek i problemy z byłym chłopakiem bohaterki - akcja jest ciekawa i wciągająca. Dodatkowo przyjemnie i szybko się czyta. Chciałabym móc powiedzieć wam coś więcej o tej książce, jednak nie bardzo wiem co mogę do tego dodać🥹❤️ Przeczytałam, spędziłam miło czas podczas słonecznych dni, kilka razy się wzruszyłam i nie brakowało też zabawnych momentów, ale to by było na tyle ☀️ Na drugim kafelku postu zostawiam wam opis do zapoznania! Nemezis – Agatha Christie Q: Hercules Poirot czy panna Marple? Trochę obawiałam się lektury pierwszej książki z panną Marple, bałam się, że nie polubię jej tak samo jak Herkulesa Poirota. Na szczęście moje obawy były całkowicie bezpodstawne! Bardzo polubiłam pannę Marple i to jak rozwiązuje sprawy. Udaje wścibską lub roztrzepaną – w zależności od potrzeby – starszą panią i dzięki temu na wiele ludzie jej pozwalają oraz wyjawiają jej różne sekrety. Do tego ma bystry umysł i zauważa wiele rzeczy niewidocznych dla innych ludzi. Sprawa od początku jest fascynująca – sama panna Marple nie wie, czego dotyczy, ale podejmie się życzenia zmarłego znajomego. To jak krąży wokół sprawy, próbując odkryć, jaką zagadkę ma rozwiązać. Dostaje tylko niejasne podpowiedzi i bilet na wycieczkę po angielskich rezydencjach i ogrodach. Każdy może mieć związek ze sprawą i każdy jest podejrzany, albo wprost przeciwnie. Świetnie się bawiłam przy tej książce. Im dalej w nią brnęłam, tym więcej było podpowiedzi i mniej rzeczy byłam pewna. Choć częściowo domyśliłam się rozwiązania, pod innymi względami było dla mnie niespodzianką. Nie mogę się doczekać, aż zapoznam się z innymi książkami z panną Marple! This one came out on Tuesday, so go get yourself a copy! ✨Reviews✨ I really loved the writing style of this book. I listened to the audiobook, but there were a lot of references to footnotes where the fourth wall was broken and it was very humorous. It was super easy to listen to and follow along with. The characters were really fun, there were a lot of them and there were one or two I got mixed up with each other, but overall they each had their own personalities and made a great team of suspects. There were a lot of secrets we learn about a lot of them and it just makes the suspicion run deeper. The plot was obviously great, I love travel books and this trip to Italy was a whirlwind. The plot was so fast. Something was always happening. So many things happened in a way that made a lot of sense. The ending was very twisty and not what I was expecting. The audiobook narrator was fantastic. ✨May Hopefuls✨ I have fallen behind reading the books that I actually own, so here are five on my TBR I hope to read the month of May!
📖 Read-a-long 📖 Question 3. Chapter 10. There have been a lot of dragon types already, so I'm not sure what I'd create if I could. I think I'd go with a flower dragon. They'd be really pretty with pearlescent scales that were mainly white but shades of pale pink, light green, lilac, and pale blue at the tips. They'd be really, really pretty, but I'm not sure what powers they would have or if they'd be useful. I think they could have some kind of healing or restorative power, like how potions and medicines were made from plants in the olden days. They'd be able to heal people and other dragons with their breath. Which would, of course, smell nice! 🄱🄾🄾🄺 🅁🄴🅅🄸🄴🅆 𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎'𝚜 𝚖𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚋𝚢 𝚑.𝚍. 𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚕𝚝𝚘𝚗 I thought this was a great short story. I felt like it was paced perfectly and felt complete. Which I really appreciate in books that are under 300 pages. It seems hard to achieve. Obviously this is not the type of book/genre that is for everyone & you definitely have to be in the right mindset to take on any kind of dark themed book. Where Haunting Adeline focused on the stalker element more heavily and Hunting Adeline focused on the human trafficking, rescue, recovery & revenge elements, this blended the two book's focuses. I really liked the added layers of what happens once a victim is rescued. The next steps. It felt like it was leading up to the next installment of the bigger world of Z and Legion. Viv is the geeky girl who likes conspiracy theories and loves all things supernatural. He has liked her since he first saw her, but she is not like the other girls who fall at his feet, indeed she isn’t his biggest fan, but one lucky night he got to have her to himself, and now they can’t stop thinking about the other. Weeks later she is struggling to pay her college housing, so he offers her the extra room at his house. Would they be just roommates or would they start catching feelings? This series is becoming one of my favorites! The stories are amazing and so well developed and the characters are lovable. Vivienne was such a badass FMC, she is empathetic, resilient and selfless. She carried so much grief due to the loss of a loved one, that it was suffocating her, but Reese helped her realize she doesn’t have to carry all of that on her own. Reese is a huge cinnamon roll, under his cocky exterior is a thoughtful, considerate and kind man. He supported her dreams and made her feel proud of them. He never gave up on her, even when she pushed him away. He thought he had it all figured out, but she was missing in his life to be complete. Together they healed, grew and overcame their fears. Together they were better.

Là où les souvenirs se révèlent par @delphinegiraudautrice aux éditions @fleuve_editions Thomas, quadragénaire, professeur des écoles à Arcachon, est victime d’un burn out suite au suicide d’une ancienne élève victime de harcèlement, Eulalie. Eulalie lui rappelait son enfance, le harcèlement qu’il a connu suite au décès accidentel de sa mère que certains qualifiait de suicide, pourtant son père à toujours nier. Dès qu’il a pu, il a fuit la Bretagne et sa famille pour se créer une nouvelle vie. Mais le passé l’a rattrapé et son burn out lui rappelle qui a besoin de comprendre ce qu’il s’est passé avec sa maman. Il va alors partir dans une quete de la vérité pendant sa convalescence et découvrir beaucoup de choses lorsqu’il revient en Bretagne entouré de son père, sa tante et sa cousine. Comme d’habitude, la plume de Delphine Giraud m’a beaucoup émue, bouleversée, l’histoire est magnifique et écrit avec beaucoup de justesse. Le suspence est à son comble jusqu’au bout et la fin est très suprenante. Le livre sort aujourd’hui et franchement, ça serait dommage de passer à coté d’une si belle histoire, alors n’hésitez pas à craquer, nous ne le regretterez pas. 📖 El país de las mujeres 🪶 Gioconda Belli @giocondabelli ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ¡Un libro que disfruté mucho! Es muy fácil de leer y muy entretenido. En esta novela, la autora nos presenta un país de Latinoamérica, ficticio, llamadoFAGUAS en donde se lanza un partido político, el PIE conformado únicamente por mujeres. Este partido gana las elecciones y uno de los cambios más controversiales que propone es la destitución de TODOS LOS HOMBRES de los puestos de estado para que estos sean ocupados únicamente por mujeres. Una medida que causa diversas opiniones y acciones de parte de los afectados, ya que estos deben quedarse a cargo de las tareas domésticas. La protagonista, Presidenta Viviana Sansón, es una mujer decidida, valiente, que se tendrá que enfrentar una situación de vida o muerte durante su gobierno, pero a través de esto, iniciará un viaje en donde junto a ella aprenderemos y nos daremos cuenta de diversas situaciones que tenemos que enfrentar las mujeres en el día a día. Esta utopía que propone la autora, en donde los hombres se encargan por completo de las tareas domésticas y las mujeres de trabajar, me parece un experimento muy curioso. ¿Qué pasaría si implementáramos esto en la vida real? 🤔 Dejen sus comentarios. Ahora, hablando de uno de los temas que resalta en la novela y es parte de nuestra realidad, es la desvalorización de las tareas domésticas, que en su mayoría son realizadas por las mujeres. Es un punto muy importante para reflexionar en este mes de la madre, porque siento que ese mensaje que romantizamos de “mamá puede con todo” es una forma de disfrazar la explotación que cometemos con estas mujeres. Las tareas domesticas son responsabilidad de todos los que viven en el hogar, no las recarguemos solamente en una persona. Frase que me encantó de este libro: El slogan de la campaña del partido “Un PIE delante del otro”. La tomé como frase para mi vida, paso a paso voy cumpliendo mis sueños.
