They are just so stunningly beautiful with art from @gabriella.bujdoso and they are big! Like actually big enough for the books they are designed for. Hallelujah! Like this fits the big lovely that is Finale and my Sarai sleeve i posted a week or two ago can actually fit the Strange the dreamer books and that is no easy feat. well done ACOBAF. And just like that the month is over. I didn't read as many as I hoped to. I didn't read the ones I really wanted to. But I did read some fantastical books. I really stepped away from thrillers and enjoyed different genres. In this pile, all but Looking For Alaska were the kind of fiction I was hoping to read this birthday month of mine. I got to listen (technically a re-read) to Neverwhere by Neil Geiman, one of my first and favorite fantasy books. I also finished (today) Rules for Vanishing - highly recommend, a review to come soon. Our #DeepDarkReads didn't disappoint this month either. Thinking about it, it seems like I really enjoy the non traditional writing style. Overall, a stressful month (life wise), but I enjoyed what I read. These books did take me away from my worries, and that's exactly what I was hoping for this month. Happy Monday!! #qotd - what was your favourite book of the month? 📚 Hopefully a quick post from me as I've had a long day - first aid training meant that I was at work for 12 hours today 🙄 so tired and it's only Monday! I ended up finishing 8 books in September although most were ebook form so I only have these two books to display physically! It's not been a great reading month, if found things slow going and not very gripping, but I really enjoyed The Extended Summer of Anna and Jeremy as well as my Hunting Prince Dracula re-read. 🍁September Wrap-Up🍁 • I read a total of 6️⃣ books this month!! I also got about a quarter of the way through Gone with the Wind and I’m loving it. I also hit 49 books read so far this year (which is 9 more than my Goodreads goal)!!!! 🍁 So, disclaimer, I messed up this pic a little bit 😂. I haven’t finished Gathering of Shadows yet, but I only have about 200 pages yet. Also, I straight up forgot to add Bad Blood to the pile, even though I have the physical book. Whoops. 🦇W r a p. U p🦇 ⠀⠀ Hello, bookish darlings! ⠀⠀ It is very much a Monday over here in Spookville. The lady at Einstein Bros overcharged me for my bagel and coffee (and was super rude when I pointed it out), I wore the wrong bra (it is very uncomfortable), and I spilled my water everywhere this morning. Sigh. All hope is not lost, however, as I found out that I only answered one question incorrectly on my 50 question exam! Woo hoo! Now only two papers, five lengthy homework assignments, and two more exams to go (for that class)! ⠀⠀ My month didn’t have a ton of personal reading in it (I read two books for classes too), but what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. ✨ So here are the books I bought in September! ✨ ✨ It's quite an international mix this time, A Torch against the Night I bought in the US, and Serpent & Dove I bought in Canada! By the way, I was in probably the most beautiful bookstore I've ever seen in Vancouver 😍. We just had one day in the city, but we still spend over two hours in there 🙈. ✨ I already finished ACSDAL and Capturing the Devil, I'm gonna post my opinion on both in two separate posts :). What is your last read of September? • I’m currently rereading this beauty via audiobook with the stunning narration of Thandie Newton. I’ve read Jane Eyre multiple times, but I’m finding that listening to it with the nuance and emotion in the narration is actually making me catch things I never noticed before. It’s honestly like reading it again for the first time; magical and heartbreaking. • • My “Currently Reading” candle by @burningbrightcandleco has me feeling all the autumnal feels of Thornfield Hall with scents of cinnamon, pumpkin, black tea, and vanilla 👌🏻❤️ • • My September mostly consisted of slowly devouring Darkdawn in both physical form and audiobook. For me it was five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 • I also managed to read Vow of Thieves (also an excellent audiobook): 4.5 stars and several regency romances as palate cleansers • I’m also taking my time working my way through The Starless Sea thanks to @rqdavis_ for sharing!! How is it #bookhaul day already?! I feel so good about how few purchases I made this month! No more 20+ books a month 😅. Of these 9, three are from sub boxes and two are review copies. That means I only really bough 4 right? 😂😂😂 if only it worked that way. The season change has definitely affected new release covers! My haul is almost completely Black or White. How do you choose which book to purchase next? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Sunday bookworms! It was a busy weekend and I had such a good time. The kids had a great birthday party, my husband made some delicious pulled pork and I spent time with family and friends. The only downside was how cold it was. Typically, this time of year we can still have parties outside but we had to move everything into the house because of the temperatures were so low. It actually snowed a little in some areas.
